That kid could fly!!! Does he have any college offers? He definitely has the speed to play at the next level.K.McDaniels, Tarboro, Qb. 2018 state championship MVP. Also, won a state title in track and field.
He’s a great kid and super fast, but he’s a quarterback at Tarboro. He’s not going to get much of a look by recruiters. That kid could fly!!! Does he have any college offers? He definitely has the speed to play at the next level.
With that speed, I’m sure some school could look at using him as a RB, slot WR, or even CB. He doesn’t have to be a college QB. Hopefully he will get an opportunity to further his career/education.He’s a great kid and super fast, but he’s a quarterback at Tarboro. He’s not going to get much of a look by recruiters.

I’ve heard that East Carolina has shown some interest. Not sure if they still are, but some college will fall in love with that speed and athleticism. And even if football doesn’t work out he’s for sure got a future in track. He’s a great kid and super fast, but he’s a quarterback at Tarboro. He’s not going to get much of a look by recruiters.
If he is as fast as I have seen in his recorded 100m times, he will see a scholarship of some kind from somebody.I’ve heard that East Carolina has shown some interest. Of some kind, yes. But most D1 recruiters aren't looking for a project. They want something that will plug into the schemes they already have in place. Tarboro already has issues getting recruiting attention because of the size and the offensive scheme. D1 college coaches used to make more offers based talent in the 80's and early 90's, but when the number of scholarships was limited to 85, you started to see less of that. He might have a little interest at ECU just because its close by, but I would be surprised if the interest goes beyond preferred walk-on.If he is as fast as I have seen in his recorded 100m times, he will see a scholarship of some kind from somebody.

Talent at Tarboro has been criminally overlooked for decades. Donald Frank used to drive my school bus. He played 6 seasons in the NFL for three different teams. He went to college at Winston-Salem State. You can't tell me that guy couldn't have been a major force at a top D1 program with the expanded rosters back in the day. Coach Craddock probably has a long list of guys he thought should have been more highly recruited, but unless your schemes mirror theirs or the talent is totally off the charts, its hard to move the needle with top level recruiters.
EDIT: Anyone who watched last year's championship game, you saw Stephen Gosnell play as a junior. He got several offers and has verbally committed to NC State. You saw Jefferson Boaz play as a junior. He got several offers and has verbally committed to UNC. Kimani McDaniels was the MVP of the game and was without question the most talented player on the field. Where are his offers? Why hasn't he garnered the same interest?
Everyone on the Tarboro team can play both ways. I'm not really sure how much defense he played in 2018 though.Does he play both sides of the ball or multiple positions?
Sorry, I’m not familiar with who plays what at Tarboro. I watched some of the championship and it looked like the entire team was 6’ 190lbs and ran a 4.5
Okay first of all colleges are completely okay with a “project” Jefferson Boaz is 6’8 and has the perfect frame/body but has never truly played TE I’d call that a project. Gosnell is 6’3 195 not 6’0 160 that’s why he has the interest it’s all about measurables at the D1 level. They don’t recruit production if you’re undersized anymore.Of some kind, yes. hayesville is going to surprise some peopleJake McTaggart from Hayesville also Blake McClure is going to surprise some people.
I think it's more of a size thing not offense scheme or ability. Most of the athletic titans on Tarboro are under or just at 6'0 185lb I think we can agree. That size only equates to CB, WR and S at the next level. Those 3 positions are a specific skill set that you absolutely cannot take a flyer on as a project which is to the point you are making. Tarboro just doesnt see enough passing in their schedule. They will week 1! I'm pumped!Everyone on the Tarboro team can play both ways. I'm not really sure how much defense he played in 2018 though.

I guess you can't teach height and size. I know this. Wherever Kimani lands, he will cast a larger shadow than his 6 foot frame. That’s 100% true. Everyone not named Alabama or Clemson recruits projects.
Actually that’s incorrect sir. He will be looked at as an athlete and may be recruited as a RB because that’s what he was before he was asked to play QB. Hell I live in Greensboro and have heard there are multiple colleges D1and D2 looking at him because of his speed, vision and versatility. He’s a great kid and super fast, but he’s a quarterback at Tarboro. He’s not going to get much of a look by recruiters.
I really hope you are right and I’m wrong. I’m just a little annoyed at how overlooked our athletes seem to be.Actually that’s incorrect sir. Tarboro has had more D1 talent than you can imagine. Tarboro has had 4 players playing in the NFL at one time and East Surry doesn’t have any lol Todd Gurley, Shaun Draughn, Takoby Cofield , Tyquan Lewis!. Talk to us when y’all have someone who is the MVP of the NFL until then keep getting spanked 50-10Tarboro has had better all around teams ,not the stand out athletes some other schools have ,if most of these schools with these great athletes had just a little help around them ,then Tarboro wouldn't be in any discussion ,but team chemistry they do have .
I saw the Tarboro - East Surry game last year and the Mount Airy - Williamston game in '08. Tarboro wins, period.FmI saw a 2008 Mt Airy team that would have dismantled any Tarboro team u have had ,so people don't think u are so perfect and show respect on and off the field ,u will look so much more classy.
Tarboro fans on this board hear alot of crap from mountain teams here all the time. So let's pump the brakes on the classy part. Yeah I agree we do have some fans in the stands that are straight up Gangsta. That does not and should not take away from how Tarboro is coached, their play on the field, and what they have accomplished through their history. The community has its problems no doubt. Bad game plan is just another way of saying outcoached. No team should play for second but casual observers should be able to make that claim. It's just opinions. Good luck to East surry. If they can knock off Reidsville that would no doubt give them some immediate respect.Friend u are fielding high school kids now ,I was at the title game last year and what I saw was a bad game plan ,yes Tarboro won ,and I don't think east could have won last season not yet ,East abandoned a passing game that was moving the ball fine ,I don't know why ,but I'm not coaching, there was no answer in the second for your quarterback ,win lose ,no matter Tarboro isn't invincible ,I sat there during the warmups and could hear parents from Tarboro yelling obscene crap to many east players, while our pilot crowd enjoyed and respected the game ,so to any Tarboro fan on here thinking everyone else is playing for second get real ,our small schools have so little to choose from athlete wise ,every so often like this year we have a team that contends ,I saw a 2008 Mt Airy team that would have dismantled any Tarboro team u have had ,so people don't think u are so perfect and show respect on and off the field ,u will look so much more classy.
How you guys looking this year? Think yall got the pieces to make a deep run in the playoffs again this year? We're bringing up 2008 teams? Really? Wow. Tarboro is our county and most heated rival. Would love it if they lost every game.
Everybody else is playing for 2nd place.
