College basketball analytics predict who Kentucky's top five scorers will be
In his first season as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, Mark Pope's offense was one of the best in college basketball. Knowing that Kentucky is returnin
I doubt we start out slow.I expect 3 in double figures consistently.
Lowe, Oweh, Jasper or Aberdeen. So pumped and can’t wait to watch this team. Of course we might start out slow and ppl are gonna be negative but this team is gonna be dangerously good.
This is what I was thinking. If his outside shooting lives up to the summer hype from his teammates, which it already did in spurts last season, he could even be top three. Just because this team has so many other weapons you can’t afford to put a whole lot of focus on one babyfaced kid roaming the perimeter.Trent Noah is going to work his way into the top five scorers
What kind of scoring can be expected from Williams and Dioubate ??This is Bart's guess....
Otega Oweh: 18 points per game
Jaland Lowe: 14 points per game
Denzel Aberdeen: 9.7 points per game
Jayden Quaintance: 9 points per game
Jasper Johnson: 8.3 points per game
What that says is none of our offensive minded bigs besides Q are in the conversation. I think the likelihood of either Mo, Europe J, or Garrison reaching 9 points a game is high. And I think we have at least 5 in double figures.
I think they will average 7-8 points. What kind of scoring can be expected from Williams and Dioubate ??

Disagree. NO way only 2 average 10 or more.A lot of you need to reel in your estimates, if you look at the whole roster, you may be having us score 100+ppg.
Last year we averaged 84.4 under Pope. Let's be optimistic & say we increase that to 90.
We have a lot of guys who potentially may contribute. Would any of us be shocked if Oweh or Lowe was 15+, if Quaintance or Johnson or Dioubate or Williams were 10+, if Chandler or Garrison or Jelavic were 8+, if Noah or Hawthorn or Moreno were 5+. ALL of those can't happen (that would be 109+)!
I think we'll have 3 average double digits, but wouldn't be surprised if it was just 2 (averaging double digits) with 5-7 others in the 7-9.9 range.
Some guys who you might be surprised didn't average double-digits in a season, but were quite important to their teams include:
23-24: Wagner (9.9) & Edwards (8.8)
21-22: Mintz (8.5)
20-21: Jackson (8.4)
18-19: Hagans (7.7)
17-18: Green (9.4) & Gabriel (6.8) & Vanderbilt (5.9)
16-17: Willis (7.0)
15-16: Briscoe (9.6), Willis (7.7)
14-15: Booker (9.9), Andrew H (9.3), WCS (8.9), Lyles (8.7), Johnson (6.4), Ulis (5.9) ** only 2 guys on that team averaged double digits (11 & 10.3)
That last team is the one to look to, not because I think Pope will platoon (he won't), but because I do think he will play at least 9, probably 10, maybe 11, possibly even 12 guys significant minutes. 11 or 12 might be hard to do. But I think only 2-3 guys will play over 24 mpg.
Lastly, I'm not sold on our 3pt shooting, I don't think we will be a hugely efficient team on offense, but I do think we will be much improved on defense,
In his interview with Pope, Matt Norlander referred to Hawthorne as a redshirt and Pope didn't correct him. That's not definitive but I would be surprised if he did not redshirt.Any word on Hawthorne? Is he going to redshirt?
Trent Noah is going to work his way into the top five scorers
Oweh leading scorer
Lowe 2nd
Kam Williams will average over 10
Mo will average over 10
JQ after getting healthy will average over 10
Garrison COULD average over 10 if he makes the jump I expect. If not, 8/9 per game.
Will be several in the 10-15 per game area with Oweh around 17/18. I think 5 players will average at least 10 or more, maybe 6. Last year was about the same. Balanced scoring, average 85 or so per game as a team
