Last weekend to visit till January 4th. The Coastal guy cancelling to Auburn is concerning. You would think the coaching and stability here would attract Leary more to us. Also, we are said to have better offensive weapons than Auburn for a QB to work with.

Concerning that they rate Cox so low. Anybody know what the deal is with that?

UK has some nice offensive weapons for a QB. And 5 years ago that would be a big edge, but today with the portal who knows what AU will have to offer. There are some good WR in the portal and AU is in on 3 of them.

AU may be the dirtiest school in college football (UT would be their only competition). Hugh Freeze may be the dirtiest coach in college football. I don't like our chances here because AU is win at all costs and our AD won't even sell beer at games.

I'm not so sure if Mertz isn't UK's top choice anyway. Leary's pec injury/surgery scares me plus Leary only has one year, Mertz two. Mertz is bigger, throws well enough and would benefit from working with Coen. I like Leary but again, that pec injury is a concern. However, Leary doesn't strike me as a Freeze type QB, McCall would be more along those lines IMO.

I agree with you. Leary's injury history, him not being a mobile QB and our OL being a turnstile this year really concern me. Not to mention it looks like we're keeping Yenser. If we don't get another QB out of the portal we could get in trouble in a hurry if Leary goes down. If we have to play any QB currently on the roster an extended amount of time we're in trouble, as we saw earlier this year against USCe.

Injuries are a big factor and durability matters. Mertlz has been in a lot of big time games with high expectations. UK with a new Left Tackle and stronger UK line plus WR strenth will give Mertz a better situation than he was in. Wisconsin is at least a disciplined team with a similar offense. He would not be the team strength nor weakness but a quality QB that can compete. UK will win or lose at the line of scrimmage. Mertz can win with a Blue Wall.

Long term, what I'm anxious to see is what Coen can do with Wade. I get the impression some think of Wade as a tag along for his brother but Coen was supposedly really high on him. Saw him in HS, the guy has size, is a good athlete and a really nice arm. Think HS wise anyway, Wade was really under rated.

I am glD some sees Auburn for what they are besides me. When NCAA had a little power and presented charges ro AU, the response was always the same 2 words. PROOVE IT.

I've been there with you re Auburn from the get-go Grumpy. Been following SEC football for at least 60 years. Auburn is the most punished football program not only in the SEC but in college football. TN used their template, only added Phat's NCAA snitching along the way. When Auburn hired Freeze I made the statement: "Known cheater hired by one of the two most cheatingest programs in the SEC...what could go wrong?"

Agreed 100%. Have watched him in practice. Can't wait to see how he does in this game

I'd say the dirtiest schools in college football are the one like POS Ohio State offering a committed player in NC QB Maye FIVE fk'n MILLION dollars to transfer. Fk those cheating scumbags.
