Yes, the basketball board. I know.
There is no rational justification for keeping UK out of the NCAA Tournament. But there is, if you intend on using criteria near the end of the at-large list that rewards second-tier schools just because they have winning records in their conferences or if you just want to share the wealth with mid-majors or wish to punish a school with a non-500 record in conference even though they play in the toughest conference in America. Yeah, let's send a message that we're not including you not on the basis of talent and achievement but just because we think we have too many SEC teams already. Bullen Scheisse! These stuffed shirts dumber than posts cannot explain this--these kids worked hard, played an extremely tough schedule, worked through injuries, and got screwed plain and simple by a bunch of sniveling, no-good bureaucrats who probably have never even been so much as bat boys in little league.
This is so much like the NCAA to do this. In keeping with their lack of transparency, they cannot even begin to provide an answer that is in any way convincing. Just mumble a few words to answer the inevitable question and then we'll move on to the next topic. To see, not some, but multiple teams make this tournament over UK is a huge reminder how completely inept and thus completely stupid these guys were in making these final important choices. "Let's order pizza and draw the final names out of a hat."
Once again the NCAA had a chance to do right and they of course (what else?) get it wrong--the old SNAFU trick repeated. It shows just how pathetic and illogical the "leaders" can be representing the governing body of college sports. We have many top SEC players who should be playing in this championship, and they got screwed royally...there is really not reason whatsoever to mince words here. Bad effing job by the committee.
