Travis Shane is a helluva coach!Originally posted by thecatsareback#8:

Appreciated him as a Wildcat, despise him as a human being.
Most likely because the had the unfortunate displeasure of interacting with him on any level.Originally posted by azubuikefan:
I'm too young to really remember Travis Ford as a player.. Why does everyone seem to hate him so much?
True that.Originally posted by Seth C:

Exactly. Not sure we ever had a former player who was a bigger ******* in his personal interactions with the "common folk" in this state. I cheered for Travis the UK player, but Travis the coach I couldn't give two ***** about.Originally posted by Seth C:

This. I'm not sure why the OP thinks we should prefer Travis' team over Tubby's in this game. Both are former cats in my book, except one treated the people with whom he interacted with a lot more respect and class than the other.Originally posted by ukfan79:
I'd be more inclined to pull for Tubby than Travis.
LOL don't get ahead of yourself. You beat Tubby, they don't rank teams for that.. If they did, a lot of teams would be ranked.Originally posted by gakat3:
Ok State 63 Texas Tech 43. Ok St back in the top 25 and T Tech is 0 and 6 in conference.
My experience also from meeting both of them. Tubby was a class act on and off the court.Originally posted by UK90:

Massiello is probably his only competition....Originally posted by UK90:

I doubt he gets fired this year. I think he will get fired after another bad season or two. 4 years tops.Originally posted by Louis_Skunt:
Tubby gets creamed again, 63-43. Texas Tech has only won ONE game in the last 10 and winless in conference. I'm thinking he gets fired again at the end of the season.
Yeah, he left a mess there like he did at UK.Originally posted by Free_Salato_Blue:
Well Minnesota isn't looking much better since he left.
They'll finish dead last in conference, probably winless. And if he gets another season, next year will be exactly the same. Texas AM cant have THAT low of standards. I honestly say its a coin toss between getting fired this year or next. But NO WAY does he get a 4th year. Attendance right now has to be a joke at these home games.Originally posted by UKWildcats#8:

Can't compare football to basketball in any way shape or form when it comes to recruiting and timetable for success. Not exactly sure about the real meaning of this thread but it takes longer to build a football program than a basketball program. I don't know whether Stoops will get it done or not but he has to get a little more time.Originally posted by ~Keyser Soze~:
Now we're getting to the real meaning of this thread.
Mark Stoops has 2 losing seasons and 2 SEC wins total, I'm thinking he gets fired at the end of the year. Perspective doesn't exist.
Because he took after his daddy. Poor Travis, couldn't help but to turn out an a-hole.Originally posted by azubuikefan:

Texas A&M? Don't let the Tubby hatred make you forget what school he coaches at.Originally posted by Louis_Skunt:

I thought every B-12 team was ranked. I mean it's obviously the greatest conference of all time. Never mind that Baylor at one point last night was down by 9 at home to an 0-4 NAIA team.Originally posted by gakat3:

For the record, they were NOT 0-4. I posted a link to their record on that thread. The link wasn't updated but, as of the last update, they were 2-9.Originally posted by SilentsAreGolden:

I find it amusing how people are unable to use critical thinking in their logic. ESPN shows the portion of the schedule which are against Division 1 teams. They are an NAIA; therefore, most of their competition will not be listed on the ESPN website. They are 0-5 against Division 1 teams this year. Texas Tech is a hot mess right now, but it was a hot mess before Tubby got there. I think that Tubby is done after this; he's 63 years old and I'm not sure how much passion he has left. He looks so much older, and just seems to have lost the passion for coaching.Originally posted by preacherfan:

He is not liked because he is just like his old man. Back when it was still being done by charities, to help raise money, I hosted one of the barnstorming games for the seniors. Travis was on that squad. At the game, there were band boosters at the HS that we used, who were selling concessions. A few of them brought their kids, who sat in the stands, without buying tickets. I also had the local radio station promote the game, and in return, they gave away tickets to callers, as a promotion. I gave them 100 tickets, but it sold a whole lot through the radio awareness, and saved us from having to pay for advertisement. That savings would have come right of the top of any profit. After the game, the charity and the players split the money. Travis' dad, Eddie, called me a couple of days later, and said that Travis believed there were more in attendance than they were compensated for, basically saying we cheated them. I tried to explain that we had given a few tickets away, but that we had to, to promote the game. I even had gotten the HS to donate janitorial services following the game, Cintas to donate towels, had food for the players after the game, etc. I basically told Eddie to shove it, and that if we ever crossed paths, that we would discuss it further. I have not had much use for Travis, since.Originally posted by .S&C.:
Travis has always been nice to me. I've met him several times and he's been nice enough to accept an in invitation for a phone interview by a coach and team inwork with here in tennessee.
Most people who claim to have a problem with Him have never met him, and they are making personal judgements based on stories they have been told. That's the part you won't hear from the "F Travis" people
I loved him as a player and think he's a misunderstood person. That's my opinion as he's never given me a personal reason not to think that.
