The guy is Dr. jackal and Mr. hide! He gets better penetration than anyone on the team(McAttadk is right there) and can dish the ball inside or outside. He looked amazing yesterday. What's the deal? Poorer competition? Mental game?

Last night Demps played within himself. Yes some shots were falling but he only shot 13 times which for him is really low. Best thing about his game last night, 8 assists. Last night he played as more the player I think he can be. Solid all around game.

Demps is not the biggest guy in the world and so I think he struggles when going up against more lengthy and athletic teams. You can tell when he's struggling not only by whether the ball goes in the basket or not, but the types of shots he's taking. Last night he was getting more uncontested shots and was able to square himself up when driving to the basket. Against more athletic teams, he is shooting more off balance or with a hand in his face and he just doesn't make those (nor do most humans).

I dunno. Iowa certainly has pretty good length and athleticism and he put up 30 on them. Demps seems to me to be one of those guys who will hit all night if his first couple of shots drop. And he might miss all night if the shots don't drop early. I think he's a classic streak player, and the fact that he's scored the last couple of games after a long cold streak are encouraging. As others have said, the eight assists last night are a positive sign as well. Demps has a tendency to dribble the ball around too much at times, which causes stagnation on the offensive end. If you watched one of Bob Knight's teams when Indiana was at the top of its game, the ball would seldom hit the floor. Constant passing and reversing the floor.

Demps is better when he lets the game come to him. Could say that about most players I suppose. Last night he only took 13 shots even though he was hitting his shots so he was not forcing. But what I really liked to see was he had those 8 assists which is a better indication that he was not forcing it. He facilitated others scoring as many baskets as he did and he did well. It was what I was saying before. He needed to shoot less and pass more. I always thought that facilitation should be a much bigger part of his game and last night we finally saw it.

This is good analysis. When he dribbles around during a possession his objective is to create a little space to get off a clean look.

Vic Law has about 5 inches on Tre. Next year I think we'll see Vic swapped in for bail out shots. He'll need less time and less activity because he can simply rise up and shoot from distance.
