Looks like pairs run in the Stones family!
I don't follow recruiting much, except what I hear on here, so I hope we're still sitting well with Tre. Would love to have him at Duke.

When's he gunna announce? And how long will he stay?

IMO, he'll pull the trigger this summer. @dukiejay is the subject matter expert with the Minnesota guys so I know he has more info here.

In terms of projections, he seemed like a 3-4 year guy at one point, but now it's looking like he could possibly turn himself into a 1-2 year player. His measurables are great and he has above average athleticism. I think the gap between his point guard skills and his brother's is closing. Tyus was a better shooter at the same point, but Tre is a better defender.

I think he's going to end up writing his own story when it's all said and done. He's definitely starting to get out of his brother's shadow.

The plan for him to announce has always been this fall. I don't see that changing.

We also like Garland, another PG in the '18 class, who is a one-and-done. I don't think Tre is in that trajectory, but we didn't think that with Tyus, either. Duke would like to bring in two PGs next year, but is Tre willing to come aboard with Garland? We'll see.

Fwiw, everything still seems to suggest Duke is at the top of his list.

Garland is a big time talent. And it's funny, I could almost see he and Tre flipping as to who leaves earlier. Garland has seemed like a one and done, but he may very well not get good draft guarantees, especially at 5'11 (although he's starting to list at 6'0). Whereas Tre at 6'2 maybe even 6'3 measures better and may be the primary point when if he comes. It'll be interesting to see this play out as Garland may announce late spring early summer.
