He won't start against Texas but will get a lot of PT. The more I watch him the more I'm convinced he'll be a stud. His body looks different from earlier in the season so he's putting in a lot of work. He was a heck of a player before he ever got here but he'll just continue to round into form. I absolutely love his game. He's stepping up when he's needed and the confidence will just continue to grow. Every team needs a guy like him for moments such as the one we find our team in right now. Players like that don't grow on trees.

He should, he’s earned it with his play recently. Perry is too careless with the ball and makes some very terrible decisions, his turnovers lead to fast break points for our opponent. Noah played pg since 8th grade and can bring the ball up the floor, I trust him way more than Perry or Williams to initiate the offense.

Williams is a tremendous asset brining the ball up the court. Teams don’t have bigs that can do what he does passing and initiate the offense like that.

I would just start our 5 seniors and sub Perry in early by his self. Let him work with 4 experienced guys for a bit to make sure he gets settled in. Then go from there.

Williams is a turnover waiting to happen in the open court.

It worked against Tenn on the road the first time because it was a surprise.

Teams are not only ready for it now, they are hoping for it.

At the end of the game, we were playing Oweh at point. I'd be fine doing that and letting Noah start at the 3, Brea at the 2.

PG: Oweh
SG: Brea
SF: Noah
PF: Almanor
C: Williams

Oweh, Brea, Noah need to play a ton.

Perry gives you 10-12 minutes as the backup PG, more if he's playing well.
Chandler gives you 5-10 minutes at the 2/3 spot to spell guys.

If Carr is playing well, maybe Almanor plays a little SF since he can shoot it so well

If that's the starting five we'll have to zone them in my opinion which I don't mind.
It’s not like putting Perrry in for Carr or Almonor makes the group any better defensively. I’ve gone back and forth like crazy on who starts. Honestly though, everyone (minus Chandler) except OO and KB will play somewhere between 18-24 mins. So I’m not sure it really matters who starts. I don’t see a ton of difference. Agreed on the zone too, except Texas shoots it pretty well. I like the defensive philosophy last couple games. Man, squared up, keep ball in front of you and switch almost everything. Keeps it super simple and leaves you in a good rebounding spot. Empty side PnR gives that problems (Vols attacked that), but just have to recognize and tag from furthest away when you can. This group isn’t going to ever be good defensively, but that approach has served them well lately.

Williams gets credit for the passes he makes but he has awful turnovers as well, I always cringe when he has the ball in his hands at the top of the key for an extended amount of time. OO has been a little loose with the handle as well lately but pg by committee is fine with me, I think you need 20+ from Perry, Noah, Carr combination today. AA has to be more of threat as a driver as well, teams are putting guards on him cause he’s just been a spot up shooter. Team effort on D and the glass & we Williams has to stay out of foul trouble.

Oops. 4 senior and Oweh (the experienced guys). Dang it. I hate it when I overlook something....especially on RR.
Just messing with you big blue brother. It's easy to do. I'll be fine with 1 point wins while Butler and JRob are out, but I'm not sure if my heart will be 😂

No problem. I wouldn't have even responded if I thought you were being....well, like several posters here. But who would have thought that we would not be able to start 5 seniors in a game this year? We're young. lol

AA is a little out of position there imo. Not sure he can guard a 3 and Brea def can’t guard a 1.

You’ll likely see Perry start at the 1. But I wouldn’t mind seeing the below for stretches.

-OO (best ball handler and quickest first step out of the non PG players)
-Brea
-Noah
-AA
-Amari

I think starting adds pressure he doesn't need on his shoulders. Start Perry and bring Noah in for Brea/Otega.

BUT, he should play at least 20 minutes today
