Sorry to see him go. He got his degree and will move on as a graduate transfer so good for him. He wasn't in the running for starting qb; so if he wants to have a shot, he needs to go somewhere else. Thanks and good luck.

Woodrow “Trey” Lowe (because he was born Woodrow Lowe III) was a heralded Bolivar, Tennessee Central High School quarterback when he committed to WVU on July 11, 2017.


He chose WVU over Illinois, North Carolina, Army, Navy, Memphis and Charlotte.


Lowe passed for 1,601 yards and 20 TDs and 4 interceptions in 2016 while playing for his father, Woodrow Lowe, Jr. Trey’s grandfather, Woodrow Lowe, is in the Alabama Football Hall of Fame, so he has great bloodlines.


It just didn’t work out for him or WVU. I wish Trey well.

Wasn't he a good baseball player too or am I confusing him with someone else?

I don't begrudge these guys the chance to move on if they think they can actually get on the field elsewhere but OTOH there is always someone on the other end of it. At some other school now there is a guy thinking "Yes, I'm finally going to get to play this fall" and then Trey Lowe is going to transfer in and beat him out.

ETA: It occurs to me that this is exactly what happened to Trey Lowe when Kendall and Doege transferred in to WVU.
