What logical reason would he have for picking South Carolina ?
He was drawing interest from most of the boys. Us, Kansas etc. I don't get it.

I'm sure the UK staff looked deeper into him than just his highlight reel and saw that he can't guard a fence post and is a volume shooter with streaky scoring metrics. Either he was ice cold and unplayable, or average, minus the two games all year were he went off. I think the staff liked the potential and athleticism of Kam Williams over the questionable upside of Eaglestaff and went a different direction.

I don't think UK even offered.
All reports I’ve read indicate that the kid had offers from Kentucky, Kansas and Gonzaga among others. So, yes, apparently we did.

But nowadays the question is not necessarily “did” you offer, instead it’s “what” was included in the offer? I suspect South Carolina simply offered him a more lucrative deal … as he’s a far bigger catch for them than he would be for us.

I have heard we wanted to bring him in as a bench piece. USCjr. probably offered starter minutes/being a focal point of their offense.

Glad we didn't take him. Reminds me of when Baylor scheirman entered portal and some were going crazy. He took a ton of money from Creighton and wasn't very good

My thing is and I asked this before, can Trent Noah not give us what this guy would give us? Neither should be a starter at UK, both athletically/defensively challenged, but tall enough to get their shot off and have the greenlight to fire them up. Noah seems to have a good nose for the ball and hustles even if he's not the quickest or strongest guy out there, is a fan favorite, has a year of experience in the system, and with 3 years left is simply a better long term investment.

I get wanting to play Dent over him, Demary over him, Jasper Johnson over him, Chandler over him, or whoever, but I'm just not sold on Eaglestaff being some amazing upgrade. If I'm wrong I'll own it.

I like Noah. I think he will be good, in a couple years, he seems to have intangibles. But I don't think he can get himself open yet like this kid can. And I wasn't one wanting this kid (unless he was willing to be 7th-9th man.

I am going to guess this had to do with he wanted a promise of shots , get the same high volume that he did this past season since USC is a school that has no other scorer, they were able to promise something like that
