Trying to form a South Florida Alumni Group

I was planning in the late summer to post this but now reading that the possibility of this site ending I thought I better do this now. Pre-Covid there was a group of Kentucky fans that would get together at a downtown Fort Lauderdale sports bar for the basketball games. I would like to re-establish doing that and will spend the time to coordinate if there is the interest. If you live in West Palm, Broward, or Dade how can we communicate? I have no problem trying to coordinate this fall and negotiate with a sports bar restaurant or two or three to form a group for the football and then basketball games. It is fun to have our fans in this area together.

Any suggestions on how to get in touch with people and make it happen?

Go onto fb check to see if there is already a group. If not use fb to create a group

I’m in. I spend basketball season in Pompano. I’ll bring my wife and brother too. My nieces boyfriend manages a sports bar in Lauderdale. He’s my golf buddy. I know he’d love to have us. I’ll find what the name of it is.

Great!!!! Once you know more let me know.

Also Key West is more than 4 hours drive so I don't think that would work for our area. In fact driving from Tampa would be slightly less.

You can post through the alumni association. I used to winter in Stuart. There’s a group that’s meets in Vero Beach. I found out about it through the alumni website.

Parents live in Coral Springs, I visit pretty often but they might enjoy getting out and meeting other fans.

That Duffy's location is a great central spot on the 17th street causeway in Fort Lauderdale. It is a drive from West Palm or Miami but in the middle of both locations. Maybe we do a few locations during the season one in Boca perhaps one in North Miami so anyone in the tri-county can make it.

If comfortable would you share the name of the person you know. Am I allowed to put my email here too (or is that a dumb thing to do)?
