The endowment was near that in 2008 when the bottom fell out. Good to see that it is back up where it used to be.

In constant dollars, it is no place close to where it was in the late 80s and early 90s, but then again, now the toilets flush, the lights work, and the school pays for pest control.

I find this article strange. This isn't breaking news. I can't figure out what the angle is. Is Hoover trying to make good with TU after the Blankenship article mess? Does TU want to look like there's a master strategy? The only thing that was interesting was the discussion of Haith.

I know, there's not much news here. Just a psa about news to come.

Although I liked Stead's comment about some coaches wishing they never left...

Nolan has said that before. Tubby said Tulsa was the nicest place he lived. Don't think Robinson or Buzz said that.

I know Nolan & Tubby have fond memories and due to personal circumstances{issues Nolan had at Arkansas) that had felt that way. I was just wondering if there were others. Sorry, did not make that clear.

I didn't know we were about to surpass $1B endowment!
It was apparent Kragthorpe and his family loved it here. He moved back after being dismissed by the 'Ville. Graham has always spoken about how great Tulsa is. I know his wife hated Pittsburgh. Had Graham stayed the 2011 season, had a great year and then left for Arizona State, I think a lot of opinions about him around here shift.

taking the original post furtehr off-topic...........

Nolan was very interested in a return to Tulsa after Barnett was dismissed. Those first 5 years in Fayetteville were no picknick for Nolan, he was not very welll appreciated and he wasn't afraid to let everyone know how he felt. He actually interviewed or had a sit down with TU officials the very same day Tubby Smith interviewed for the job. I guess it's debatable as to whether it was more of a power play vs Arkansas, or genuine desire to come back. He would have been giving up a move to the SEC and Bud Walton Arena for the MVC and the Mawell Convention Center.

Personally, I don't think you go interview for another job two seasons removed from a Final 4 appearance unless the waters are rough. No secret he had his issues being the only black head coach at Arkansas. I am suprised he wasn't fired from Arkansas during Broyles reign.
