Could get Edsall, Steed, and Crawford. They officiated the other half of the bracket today and they usually switch each round. Brimah and foul trouble seem to be the key to 10 of Uconn's losses.

If we get Edsall and Steed we might as well start tackling guys cause they'll call fouls on us for breathing.

edsall and steed both hate TU...

We would be playing 5 v. 7 as long as we had some players left on the bench that weren't fouled out...

We can only hope it is the other 3 on that side of the bracket. I suspect they are hired for the entire tournament.

I hate II for even mentioning this as a possibility ;)

Like was said, if we get them then we need to play as physical as possible and earn the fouls.
Wright won't get away with dropping his shoulder into Brimah once without a foul, much less four times like Ellis who wasn't called at all for that sequence.

I think our mental outlook is key. We were completely blown out last time we played them there. The crowd will be even louder this time. We can't play tentatively. Our bigs especially need to have their best games for us to be competitive.

We will need to embrace the underdog role. We won in Memphis, we can win in Hartford. Hopefully it will be a great game with both teams playing for their NCAA life.

I don't think we will play tentative like we did today so much. We know what is on the line this time. They don't rebound as well as Cincy, but if Purvis and Hamilton are both on, it is over. But if Woodard and Harrison are both at their best which I'm not sure I have seen yet in one single game, it is also over. Those two can take over a game completely.

No mention of Boatwright? Best player on the court and it's not close. Our backcourt can be very good but they are not in this guy's league.

The reason Boatright was not mentioned is that he will get his. Purvis and Hamilton are the keys, along with the big guy fouls. Not that we will guard Purvis and Hamilton....just whether they hit those outside shots or not. Against Cincy they were deadly especially Hamilton banking in threes from the top of the circle. And the Cincy guard that beat us was terrible.

+1 Purvis alone may be the biggest key. We have to figure out a way to get some fouls called on Brimah. The game last night was ridiculously physical.

27 fouls in Tulsa-Houston
27 fouls in UConn-Cinci
29 fouls in SMU-ECU

The officials are swallowing their whistles.

A lot of league games have been like that since early February. I re-watched part of our game last night and was appalled at some things I saw inside.

Yeah, I'll be disappointed if we come out in a zone with no pressure. UConn on their 3rd game in 48 hours. Officials swallowing their whistles. It's the ideal situation to be aggressive on defense.

Agreed. It's also a chore to get back on d. That to me is the biggest problem for us if teams can generate offense.

They will never blow a whistle if you shoot from the paint. It just has to go down or it is simply a block. You have a better chance of them blowing a whistle on an illegal screen 30 feet away than on a shot 2 feet from the basket.

This is a game we need 75- 80% from the line. 60 won't cut it at this level. I still think the key to the game is how well Hamilton and Purvis shoot the ball.

Agree with I.I. but it doesn't need to necessarily be Hamilton and Purvis but any 2 add'l UCONN players to support Boatright. If Boatright struggles and we hold him down like the 1st game, we win
