I've been hearing rumors that Tyus is coming back. Also rumors that Thornton is close to being a blue devil. Has anyone else heard anything of the sort?

I am skeptical about the Tyus rumors but I feel good about Thornton. Having both next year would soothe the wounds of other departures.

I get what you are saying visa-vie "wounds" but as a Duke fan those wounds seem to be superficial more than anything at the moment.

Heck could we be better than last year. If tyus does come back and we get Thorthon that would be better i think than last year. Add in Battle or Ingram which we should get one if not both.

I'm definitely not getting my hopes up but what is this twitter chatter? Could someone post these tweets?

I'm not seeing anything reliable. A bunch of people just saying "Tyus is staying another year!" without any source whatsoever. Not sure how this got started.

Social media is not an official news source nor is mainstream media as well. Remember the Jabari is returning chatter last season?

Technically yes. That doesn't mean things can't change.
I don't see Battle reclassifying. I know there may be chatter but I'm not buying it.
I don't necessarily buy it either. However it hasn't been ruled out.

Remember how much better a Sophomore Meeks was than A freshman Okafor. Just think what he will be like next year as a junior. It may be one for the record books

Just think of Meeks stays four years. He will be the #1 pick and NPOY too.

A bunch of random people saying things, or a bunch of people who are kinda sorta maybe could be connected to reliable information

Rumors are rumors, but you never say never. Just saw today that Fred VanFleet & Ron Baker are coming back to Wichita State next year. For those that don't know, VanFleet is one of the best Point Guards in College Basketball, any class!! Just sayin'.
Go Duke!!

I don't have any inside info, but, IMO, the fact that Tyus is currently in Minnesota throwing the first pitch with KG -- rather than at school desperately trying to catch up after basically being out of town for a month -- tells all of us a lot more about his current plans for next year than anything that is being regurgitated on twitter.

That's just not a fair statement..... I'm absolutely buried at work from spending time in Indy myself but if the twins called me to throw the first pitch I would be there in a heartbeat!!!! That's not something many people get the chance to do, when ya get the oppertunity ya best make it happen!!!

Congrats to Tyus, dislike the twins but props to them for honoring the hometown hero! He has got serious airtime and mention here in the twin city sports talk world. Loveabke kid

I'm guessing you aren't serious here...but maybe you are.

Thornton would have more upside then Cook but leadership is underrated.

Also...Okafor and Winslow are potentially top 3 picks. Both were arguably 2 of the best freshman Duke has ever had. Players like that don't just fall off trees.

To be clear, the mere fact of his involvement in opening day doesn't tell me anything -- again, it's the fact that he's gone all the way home after being on the road for 4 straight weeks. I take the fact that he's in Minny as a pretty strong indication that he's at home with his parents working on signing with an agent / representatives and developing a draft plan. If he was expecting to stay, there really would be little to no reason for him to be in Minny right now -- i.e., i believe his parents just saw him at the final four and the semester's going to be over in a few weeks.

I take it as a sign that the Twins probably asked him to throw out the first pitch and he accepted like any 18-19 year old kid would and since he was already in Minnesota he decided to stay with his parents to discuss his options and decide what's best for him. There was an article that I read Friday that said he was going to meet with his family to talk things over in the next few days. So it makes complete sense to me that he would be home in Minnesota.

Hey Skyler, you think Meeks as a junior at UNC will be better than Okafor as a rookie in the NBA?

I am sure Tyus has kept up with his school work.

Tyus is back home most likely going over his near future with his family. Throwing out the first pitch with KG at the Twins game is a bonus for him. Like some of us have been saying for a while, don't expect Tyus back.

I really don't see any reason for him to come back. The only potential argument is that next year's draft is weaker than this year's draft. That's pretty much it.

"81 home games every year.. finals start in what 2 weeks?"

And how many of those 81 games are the first home game of the season?

You do realize that major-league teams don't do this every game?
