Ty Berry didn't have the shooting season he wanted to last season, but he made himself indispensable with his defense and rebounding. Now, heading into this year, Collins and Berry expect his shooting to come back and for him to continue to improve across the board. I talked to Berry at Big Ten Media Days about his goals to become a more complete player and his expectations for himself this season.

Was Berry’s shooting decline the result of expending more energy on defense? He was so valuable as a rebounder and in defending the perimeter. If he regains his shot and continues with his defensive prowess, opposing teams will suffer.

I'd like to add to that question with,"What does a guy do in an off season to get his shot back?"

His shot was flat last year.
Get in the gym form shoot and work in getting your legs into the shot would help.

It would be nice if Ty Berry could have his best season, but logically, since he is a senior and played 318 minutes as a freshman, 686 minutes as a sophomore and 962 minutes as a junior, his upside potential is probably limited compared to other guys on the team.

Barnhizer - played 82 minutes as a freshman. Played 825 minutes as a sophomore.
Nicholson - played 23 minutes as a freshman, 66 minutes as a sophomore and 715 minutes as a junior.
Martinelli - played 202 minutes as a freshman.
Hunger - played 37 minutes as a freshman.

One thing that might help Ty Berry individually is that he will be out of Chase Audige's shadow.

Boo was playing lots of minutes for 3 years and then became 1st Team All BIG last year. No minutes correlation there.
