U17 Pan-American Championships

Got two Oklahoma kids and both from Edmond North, Joseph Jeter MFS/GR and Bella Williams WFS competing over the next few days in Santo Domingo D.R.

They're wrestling GR today, so far Jeter has 34 second 8-0 tech and a 31 second pin. He's in the finals which should happen in the next hour or two...

Williams wrestles tomorrow, and Jeter will compete in FS on Saturday.

another 8-0 TF, this time in 40 seconds, and Jeter is bringing home at least one gold.

On top of taking Gold with 2 techs and a pin, Jeter also was awarded the Golden Boot, which is OW award. I have no f'ing clue why a Boot is the OW award... but still pretty cool, and great to see a local kid shining on the international stage.

Williams is 3-0 so far on the day, with all 3 being close matches and two coming down to criteria. Her final match, against a girl from Venezuela who is also 3-0, is coming up later this afternoon. That match is effectively the 1-2 match.

Oklahoma, and Edmond North have 2 Pan-Am Champs! Williams wins her 4 match 11-8.

Jeter doubles up and takes Gold in FS! Winning a 9-6 decision, getting a fall in the semis, and ending it with a tech in the finals.

Awesome to see Oklahoma kids showing up and showing out like this.

It really is. I haven’t paid much attention to who all went but I don’t think it could’ve been all that expected (especially in FS)
