That definitely ruined it. Would still watch it for free but I have no interest in spending money to see those two.

;With two well known wrestlers headlining the top two matches I was afraid of watching lay and pray all night so I am passing and will catch the YouTube uploads before they are deleted tonight. I guess I shouldn't say wrestler so much as I should say boring when it comes to Rory. He puts me to sleep. I know a lot of folks like him but I think he's as boring as GSP.

Didn't pay for it, watched it by other means as always. This was the first since UFC 100 that would have been worth paying for. Some really good fights top to bottom

Only saw the last two fights. Very entertaining.

I used to watch a lot of boxing and the one thing I can't believe in these MMA fights is that these guys just stand there letting the other tee off. No change of levels. No bobbing and weaving. No cutting down angles and closing the distance.

Do they employ any kind of boxing coaches or is there just too much to study and they have to sacrifice in some training areas? Those two in the second to last fight had faces flatter than Kate Upton's aace.

From what I've seen, elite level MMA boxers don't come close to anything remotely considering decent boxing skills. Just too much to worry about other than jabs, straights, and hooks. Watching something like GGG vs. McGregor in boxing would be the safest bet since Pac/May.

Worried about getting taken down. You have to have your base set for TDD (take down defense). If you are moving, hoping, shucking and jiving you are going down on your ***. That's why wrestlers like Cain Velasquez and Cormier do so well. They put constant pressure on you because you're worried about getting taken down by a high level wrestler so that opens up your face to their punching cause your hands tend to drop as soon as they move forward anticipating the take down.

Boxing for MMA and inside a Boxing Ring are two completely different animals. Not even Mayweather would be bobbing and weaving inside of a cage. Put him in there with Aldo or McGregor and he would be laying on his back tapping out within about 60 seconds just as if you put Mcgregor or Aldo inside a boxing ring with Mayweather the two MMA fighters would have no chance.

UFC 189 was an epic card. Best one in a long time.

It is going to be interesting to see the PPV numbers when McGregor and Aldo finally meet. I am guessing they fight within 2 to 3 months. McGregor got cut but he should be ready to fight again pretty soon. I am also guessing the UFC doesn't want to put the card off too much or there could be risk for one of the fighters being injured. I say book a stadium for the fight, it is easily going to be the biggest UFC event ever.

Aldo/McGregor is to me the most anticipated fight in UFC history now. That is going to be a blockbuster. If McGregor wins he'll be the biggest MMA star in the history of the sport. And notice I said star and not fighter.

Because its alot easier to bob, weave, and duck when you dont have to worry about catching a knee or kick to the face; or being taken down and submitted.

I do agree with you because his popularity will soar past what Lesnar did during his time in the UFC. Dana White admitted that if Mcgregor beats Aldo his first defense of the title would be a stadium show in Ireland.

I also think because he is 145 lb fighter he can be the biggest star but will probably never be #1 pound for pound. Even though he has big legal troubles Jon Jones is still the GOAT right now. Maybe if McGregor moves up to 155 (Lightweight) and carries both belts at the same time he could obtain GOAT status. I still think a well conditioned wrestler is going to beat McGregor. Mendes doesn't have the mental sharpness to get it done, but Frankie Edgar is going to give Mcgregor fits. I think there are some other great wrestlers that can keep Mcgregor on his back.

But it is exciting to have a fighter as popular as Mcgregor. Just pisses me off a guy like Jon Jones does the stupid crap he does because he is so much better than anyone else in MMA today.
