Nothing will happen to them. Just like nothing will happen to UNC.
No, you are mixing your NCAA treatments up. UNC basketball will get off scott free since they are favored, UNC football has been and will again be hammered.

And Ole Miss football is NOT a member of the protected class, hence I expect them to get waylayed something awful by the NCAA for doing things probably less severe than Alabama & Auburn normally do.

One thing we have learned if they are going to investigate your program you get away better if your School doesn't get involved.

If you follow recruiting, and have ever been to Oxford, you know something unseemly was going on there.

Dig deep enough and you'll find UT at the center of these allegations. That's how they got Bama, point the finger at others and the NCAA won't look at you.

If I was the Ole Miss administration I would publicly tell the NCAA that they'll take these allegations seriously after they see the punishment UNC and Louisville receives. Until then, leave them alone.

Someone should start the process of holding the NCAA accountable. Why not Ole Miss?!?

Not this time, it's an SEC school but not UT, Mississippi State wants them busted and doing all it can to see that it happens. Personally I wish every school that had knowledge of another cheating would do it. AU and Bama have a "gentleman's agreement" not to turn each other in.

Curious timing really. Consider this...Kobongo was once committed to UT then decommitted. Couple of weeks ago UT had scratched back in to the mix and stayed on top for several days. But then, this week, it was thought he had a new leader...Ole Miss. Then this stuff "just happens" to come out now, 5 days before NSD. Curiouser and curiouser. UT's nasty finger prints are on that knife in Ole Miss's back.

None of this will be tied to the school. Sure bag men paid money to recruits and family members but they are nameless faceless ghost. Just like ok st got nothing for payments. It will look really bad and in the end it will mean squat

Yep. Combine that with the fact that Jordan Bonner is getting a lot of calls from some "other" school all of a sudden... The numbers, Mason. What do they mean?

Somebody forgot to tell Gene Jelks and whoever at Auburn paid him to rat out Alabama.

The ESPN article says the investigation has been going on for 3 years.

That would be about the time that freeze said if anyone had any evidence of Ole Miss cheating they should forward info to ncaa. They supposedly got over 100 emails the next day with evidence.

I think this has more to do with boosters than the coaching staff. In fact, I highly doubt that Freeze is the one paying players. I'd be stunned if there were a team in the SEC whose boosters didn't pay recruits/current players, or provide them with any other benefits. Happens at Ole Miss, Bama, UT, Auburn, UGA, LSU, you name it. There definitely is truth to the "bag men" in the SEC. I just think the boosters at Ole Miss go above and beyond what boosters at other SEC schools do. In fact, Bo Scarbrough was suspended for 4 games because Ole Miss boosters tried to buy him. I have no doubt that he accepted something from them.

It would take more than a month for the NCAA to investigate and put together a notice of allegations. Unless that was satire.

If any school gets in trouble and is punished before UNC who ran a completely bogus academic scam for years then there will be a lawsuit to end all lawsuits. I can't wait.

If I was Ole Miss, in fact if I was any NCAA member institution that was delivered a notice from the NCAA that appears that their school might have violated the rules, I will tell them to say thanks for the correspondence. Will look into what you are saying we did, but I tell you what, when you finish stripping victories and championships, and reduce scholarships, and ban NCAA tournament future appearances for 5 years or so the the biggest violator and cheater of all time, the University of North Carolina, give us a call, because until then....you aren't getting a damn thing from us. Have a nice day.
