UK Athletics Profitable

According to this article, UK was one of only 24 schools to have an athletic department that is self sufficient, meaning it generates more revenue than it spends. A lot of schools are profitable only when subsidized (see UofL with a whopping $7.7 million subsidy).

Oregon leading the way doesn't make any sense. If you take out the facility gift of $95 million by Phil Knight, they made $101, 030,398 and spent $110,378,432.

Kentucky's numbers are wrong. According to the annual report UK's revenue is 117 million, not 96 million.

I thought the expenses were interesting. Texas spent $154 million, then Michigan comes in a somewhat distant second at $142 million. Then it's a big drop to the rest of the SEC starting in the low $120 millions. I remember seeing this same report a few years back and Ohio State and Florida spent far more than anyone else at that time.
