Can't be...he isn't playing at all this season. Just ask the half the board that folded up the tents after the 4th loss...
When it became apparent that he was going to play soon the same bunch started to say1 he isn't really that good and 2 even if he turns out to be good he won't help us that much. I truly despise these people.

Have to assume he so desperately wants to play in the CBS Sports Classic because he missed the BBN United Tipoff Classic Presented by Kentucky Tourism

Why would anybody want to fold up their tents after we lost 40% of our first 10 games, including a 35-point beatdown on a neutral court? You would think that our fans would be excited and show some gratitude!

Yeah, we should be grateful if we lose today and at bama and are 8 and 6 early in the new year too. Lol according to that other poster.

Better not lose today. No excuses anymore.

Yeah he plays it so much like Cal with how he talks about injuries.
Why is he doing it? Is it something that's coming from Mitch or Kyle Richardson? Or is he just coddling players to try and avoid upsetting someone?

I'm not going to lower my expectations, that built this program into a dominant force. Because you have fuzzy feelings for a former player.
So you prefer to live in the past instead of reality. Fair enough.
Times have changed dude. Reality is, we have everything we need to be a great program again, but it doesn't just happen because Kentucky is on the front of the jersey. Rupp coached mostly in a time when black kids couldn't play. Joe B. Won exactly one title in his entire career. RP is one of the greatest coaches in history, so yeah, there's that, but here is a scoop, Oats couldn't hold a young Pitino's jock strap, and neither can nearly any other coach today. Most of the top guys have told us to piss off. Tubby won one, but it was with Pitinos team. Cal resurrected the program and won one, but the way he did it(one and done) is obsolete and doesn't win titles anymore. MP can build the program back, but he has to be given a FAIR CHANCE. I can go through the top 20 coaches in the history of the game and they all had an early losing season or two at a new job, especially ones that had NO PLAYERS ONTHE ROSTER, and now have self imposed recruiting woes JMI, none of which he could control. Now, four whole losses into a season and you are ready to crap on his head? Yeah, you are a real superfan Bro

It’s just how coaches do things. It’s not just Pope and Cal. It’s all of them.

The question is why wouldn’t our coaching staff WANT him to play against SJ…he’s been medically cleared for awhile and probably could’ve been playing already

A confidence matter, I suppose. Debuting him in a situation with less pressure against easier competition where he's more likely to succeed, instead of jumping right into the deep end coming off a serious injury.

Exactly. ^ St. Johns is throwing himself in to the deep end. Bellarmine is the kiddie pool.

St Johns is going to be bigger, stronger, and play more physical than Bellarmine. So, do you want your guy to ease his way in or do you want to test the knee out against the better more physical team. As a coach you are going to be cautious. A 2nd torn ACL in an 18-year old? Remember Harry Giles. He went from being the possible #1 pick to being the 20th pick. He was never the athlete he was prior to his injuries.

Sounds like JQ wants St Johns. Which speaks volumes. Seems he understands the importance of this game. A win today gives UK another Q1 victory. It will give UK a 2nd Q1 win. That would put them with teams like Louisville, Kansas, Alabama, and Tennessee. All of whom, as of today, have 2 wins and 2 or more losses against Q1 teams.

Coaches get a bit gun/injury shy too. And rather not put a guy out against quality comp the first go.

But here we are……

I guarantee had we not dropped UNC and MSU we probably wouldn’t be seeing him today.

You do realize if we lose today we’re still in hot water right?

That would only give us one quality win. ONE

Today is a must win.
