Stop it with the objective takes that make things appear positive. We are horrible, Pope can't recruit, and kids don't want to play for Kentucky any more.
Pope is absolutely getting it done. The negative nancy clowns on here will pretend they didn't see this.

Chris is definitely a UK sunshine-pumper. Right now, even if we add Folgueiras, last year's team is still better than this year's team on paper. We lost a lot in Butler, Brea, Jaxon, Williams, and Carr.

Wrong. Players improve year to year, especially under a good coach. We are already better on paper with Lowe. Add a good PF and we are loaded.
How much production do you expect from our three freshmen? Will any freshmen be a starter?
We may have great recruiting class but how much help do you honestly expect next year, not in 2027 or 2028 season?
This time last year our transfer class was way "worse" in terms of rankings. Top ranked guy was BG. This year we also have returners and Freshmen that are higher rated.
Jasper, Moreno and Lewis will all be capable bench players immediately and I believe at least one will blossom into a stud over the course of the season. We don't need them to be superstars immediately.
Could that be because our 3 HS players don’t have anything on paper? You are being manipulative to fit some fracking anti Pope Agenda. No one not even Owen has the talent of our 3 freshmen that’s why they are top 30 recruits so our team already has much more potential than last year
I think Jasper starts and I think Moreno could start over Garrison if he's more consistent and physical.
Right now if this was our full roster... id say our starters would be: Lowe, Jasper, Oweh, Williams, Garrison

I would take chandler over most of the top transfers. His ceiling is ridiculous and he’s a man as a freshman. Not to mention our highest rated recruit last year. He’s the player that gives me most hope bc he’s the only guy that can do it all. Shoot, get to the rack, handle the ball, defend. I expect chandler to be back up pg to this Pitt guy we landed. Yeah I can get excited about guys in the system and recognize we have zero proven elite players in a league where the top 5 have 2 or 3 at least. Chandler could become elite in year 3. Great next year
Maybe. I'll counter with a few things. 1. We have 3 guys coming in who will be ranked higher than *anyone* we had last year (although they will be freshman). 2. Butler and Jaxon and Carr all dealt with some pretty inpactful injuries. Id almost considering removing Jrob from this. Now, injuries could do the same to us next year. 3. I'm not sure how good those 5 were, or if it was more so Popes offense and coaching abilities. Which makes me think if guys like Laland and Jasper Johson and others won't have the same benefits.
I already like our backcourt better for next year.

Here we go again! I just do not have it in me right now to lay on the casm too deep. Oweh (worst ball player on the team), Garrison (could not play for Bryan Station Senior High), Chandler should have stayed on his mission, Perry should have gone to university of the Cumberlands and rode the bench, Noah should have died in the flood. Moreno is a moron, Johnson is a band aide, Lewis should have stayed with Martin, Lowe is too lowely for us KENTUCKY fans (we deserve way better), and Kam does not have enough power to drive a Yugo. Pope could not lead an actual flock of sheep let alone the WILDCATS. Staff is the worst staff in college basketball.
We will not win a game this year, we will not even hit a 3. We have 3 left hand players on the team and we all know that 3 lefties = bad juju from the get go. This is a travesty, I am a UK fan and I deserve all the guys I say UK should have and screw the rest of you guys. You are all a bunch of sunshine pumpers, glass half full and I cannot even deal with you all right now. Hopefully GOD will look down on this team and when they gather in Rupp Arena he will just swallow it up with the team into the depths of the earth to never be seen or heard from again.
Unfortunately, some of the UK fanbase are suffering from Cal induced 5-star syndrome.

So, you are putting weight on rankings now? But then some turn around and dismiss rankings when we get a portal transfer not ranked in the top "fill in the blank." People can't have it both ways.

None of us know that, whether more or less talented. Only our opinions at the moment. But like I've said, my outlook changes if we get Pierre and/or Yaxel, or some other high-level potential recruits.
I expect the 3 freshmen to be great contributors out of a top 8 rotation. With 5 guys having solid college experience. And our best player returning. Pretty much your ideal way Pope wants to play. I love that formula
If we don’t add another big other than AF…or if we don’t go small w AF at the 5; then I expect Moreno to start by the end of the season. If he isn’t starting then I wouldn’t be shocked to see him getting more minutes than any other 5 as the 6th man
I’m basing it off our best player returning. Chandler who was top 35 , who didn’t hit stride till the finals weeks of the season. Garrison who was a McDonald’s all American but only was a sophomore hasn’t hit stride yet. Two transfers that are higher rated overall than our top two transfers last year (both of those are still on the team btw). And 3 freshman who are higher ranked out of HS, than anyone we had on this last years team . So talent wise, absolutely better. Experience wise, we have 5 returners as opposed to 0. Yes, even without any other transfers at this moment. Our ceiling will be much higher
Then some fans are going back to Billy Clyde days when everyone convinced themselves that Vinny Zollo and Dakota Euton were superstars.

Just went through a 15 year stretch where we won the title on paper damn near every year. Let's worry about how talented they are on the actual court.
