UK is #1 nationally in APG. (BTW UConn is #2)

UCONN’s opponents so far are rated 336, 341, and 356 out of 364 teams in KenPom, good for the 362nd hardest schedule in the country. Tonight’s opponent checks in at 352.

They will have much better competition in the next 4 out of 5 games after tonight before starting conference play.

Wow, I knew they weren't great opponents, but that's awful. Even at our worst, we might have 1 or 2 teams in the 300's and then a bunch in the low 200's high 100's. We certainly never had FOUR in the bottom 10th percentile.

I have quite a few Uconn fans in my circle, they are very concerned that this might be a gap year, or an overall down season. They think the loss of Clingan in the paint is bigger than people think, and they dont really have a star player who can get a bucket like a Tristan Newton or Stephon Castle. And I believe Dan Hurley has even made a few comments like this.

I think they are prepping for a decent step backwards this season.

Well, Evan Miya had UCONN with three of the top ten players last year. It’s bound to be a step down from that. It’s easier than it used to be to go out and reload, but you are always trying to catch lightning in a bottle to some extent. It helps when you catch it in a bottle and it sticks around for two tournaments.

I’m not suggesting the Cats have played anyone good outside of Duke. But doesn’t it seem the achedule this year does feature at least more formidable mid-majors or at least programs who have aome history of being able to compete with the big boys on occasion?
