Andy Buh to Maryland right in the middle of Spring Practice. He was also their main recruiter for the state of Georgia. What a strange time to move on.

Stoops is a "lame duck HC" and most of his staff have known this since the latter part of last season. Towles did not leave because of Barker, he left because he experienced the decreasing morale within the program. There are folks in Lexington that I have known for years that love their UK football, who told me that several of those kids lost respect for the staff and their teammates mid-season last year. That losing stretch was predictable.

No one understands better than a major college player that there is no being coached up at uahkay. Those kids are not getting better only kicked around by team after team. No wonder there is no respect for the staff from those kids. In reality, the kids are in charge of the asylum and they know just how hard they do NOT have to work.

It happens with every head coach they bring in.

Coach stoopID needs 5 more years to right the ship. So what if the 'joke' phillips

Buh goes way back with Durkin to their days at Stanford working under Harbaugh. Buh is a very good coach and had already turned down an ACC ST coordinator job this offseason. The former Syracise HC that Durkin had hired as his DC randomly quit on him a few days ago. That's why the move came at such a weird time. Hard to blame Buh who wants to be a HC some day for jumping at a B1G DC position under an old friend and a very well respected defensive mind. Some of our coaches have been getting interest from very good programs in the past 3 years and didn't jump at the opportunity to leave so the idea that people are looking to jump ship isn't true. If that were the case they'd be leaving for less money instead of renegotiating their contract to stay when they received other offers

cat87 please inform us of which ACC ST job he turned down. I think you just may be spewing stuff here, but I may be incorrect. If a lateral move to an ACC team had been considered then why would he make that move. But I assure you that an upper level ACC team would always, ALWAYS be preferable to the uahkay job. And, by the way, MD is no prize either.

When it came out that Buh had been offered a P5 coordinator position a few months ago some of the UK writers said that sources had indicated that it was an ACC school but wasn't told which one. Now it's come out that Buh had turned down MD for their ST job already this year. I'm not sure if Buh had interest from two schools or if it was wrongly reported to have been an ACC school when it was MD

Yet on the Lair your idiotic fans were throwing McGee under the bus for jumping to Illinois to be the OC for his longtime friend Lovey Smith.

That's what the last sentence of his post is referring to - typical passive/agressive, rationalizing yut BS.

I agree that we have idiotic fans but I find it no different in reading some of the comments on some of these threads.

Obviously UK isn't that bad of a job or there wouldn't be so many people leaving other schools like UL, Florida St and Cincinnati to take a position there.

01346776 Lamar Thomas needed a pay check. Period. His time here was up and he thought he'd be cute and become a kitty kat. Believe me, he was leaving here regardless of where he ended up.

Who wouldn't want to coach at a school who's goal it is to go 6-6.

uk has historically been a graveyard for head coaches. Assistant coaches however are a different story - even the ones who do a poor job seem to be able to find other work - Naviar was an utter disaster at uk, yet he latched on to an even better program at Houston. As gocds indicated, LT was not being retained - no official reason given but widely believed that he wasn't doing the job that he was hired to do - recruit FLA. Combine the fact that uk's WRs have underperformed (been overrated?) since stupes has been there with their interest in making recruiting inroads into Fla AND, some false PR about "stealing" a coach from their biggest rival - made for a perfect storm for Thomas. My guess is he's gone in two years - with or without stupes being canned.
