The point spread for the U of L-UK football game on Nov. 28 keeps growing -- and growing. http://bit.ly/20YcMOW
An underdog a month ago, the Cardinals are favored by 9 ½ points over the Wildcats. (The conferences announced Monday that the game in Commonwealth Stadium will start at noon and be televised by the SEC Network.)
Two weeks ago Louisville was favored by 4 ½. Last week the number moved to 7. If the teams played in mid-December, Louisville might be favored by three touchdowns.
There was a time when it didn’t appear to be risky business picking Mark Stoops’ team. On Oct. 15, Kentucky was the pick by 1 ½ points. Kentucky was also the choice by one when Andrews listed the number for the first time last May.
Stuff happens. Kentucky has lost five straight. Louisville has won four straight.
Jeff Sagarin’s predictor computer rankings are often in tune with the point spread. Sagarin’s formula likes U of L by 8.81.
But in Vegas, on Monday, if you wagered on Louisville, you had to give 9 ½.
A year ago, Louisville was favored by 12 -- and won, 44-40
