Seriously, a fly ball to RCF off the bat could end up in LCF today. Wind is ridiculous. Defense could be a big factor.
That's an interesting picture - so, is McDonnell short or is Mingione tall? He fairly towers over him.....
T1 - Louisville 1, #Kentucky 0. Cats mishandle ground ball. Not sure they could have turned two to get out of inning, but Cards strike first.
T2 - Louisville 3, #Kentucky 2. Cards make UK pay for walk, error, hit batsman (9 hole hitter trying to bunt) and a 2-run 1B by Stowers.
This team is driving me nuts. We literally never get away with walking people, it has come back to bite us all year. 1-2 count and Stowers gets a two run dribbler up the middle. UK now losing, we just can't get anyone out this year.
Just dodged a bullet, as UK gets an unconventional double play. We're going to have to score a ton of runs to win today, can't count on getting them out.
B2 - #Kentucky 4, Louisville 3. And back and forth we go as Pompey plates two for Cats with oppo 1b to LF.
Throwing error by Cards trying to make play at plate makes it 5-2 Cats, and they still have bases loaded with no outs.
Cards catch a break on a 1-2-3 double play back to the mound and a routine grounder to escape further damage.
Good to take the lead back but I thought this should have been at least a 5 run inning.
Cats make a pitching change in T4. Harper exits, Coleman comes on with UofL runners at 2nd and 3rd, 1 out.
B4 - #Kentucky 6, Louisville 4. Becker RBI single drives home Aklinski as the runs keep piling up.
Good to see UK take advantage of an error with 2 outs and then get the runner home from second with a single by Becker into right field. We have failed to capitalize a lot lately, so it's good to steal one there. 6-4 top of 5th.
4 1/2 innings: 10 runs, 10 hits, 5 errors, 6 hit batters, 7 walks. Not exactly a masterpiece between these rivals so far.
UK trying to blow this open a bit in the 5th! Bases loaded with one out and 2 already in to give UK a 8-4 lead.
Why are we so dumb? Why? Two strikeouts looking and then Rodriguez tries to steal home with two outs and gets thrown out. That is a whole lot of stupid in one half inning.
End of 5: #Kentucky 8, Louisville 4. Cats only get 2 out of that inning. Ends with UK trying to steal home, thrown out.
Thrown out stealing home with the bases loaded. This is one bad baseball game except for the fact that the right team is winning.
That was one bad ending to a good inning. Two strikeouts looking and then stealing home and out by a mile with Becker up. Sure fooled 'em with that attempted steal.
