I can't bring myself to listen to this one either, but I will again be checking twitter. Looks like there are some minor lineup changes... Arnold is hitting in the DH spot at 8th. Riley Mahan is starting over the struggling Connor Heady in the 9 spot. Storm Wilson continues to hit in the 2 hole. The sophomore lefty Logan Salow takes the mound for UK.

Finally some offense as Shelby blasts a 3 run home run in the top of the first to put UK up early!!!

UK getting the better of UCSB today. Now up 6-0 in the top of the third. A 2RBI single from Evan White to score Wilson and Tom.

Wilson now 2-2 on the day. Also getting some clutch hitting as we get a 2 out double from Mahan and then a RBI single from Barrett to take a 7-2 lead in the top of the 4th. These middle innings are where UK pitching needs to win. Hopefully Salow recovers and gets 6 more outs and the pen can close it out.

They cut the lead to 7-3 in the bottom of the 4th inning. We need this game pretty badly to get back on track.

Rain is moving in within the next 30-45 minutes. It is an official game with UK up 7-3 going to the top of the 6th.

Storm Wilson must have heard our criticism as he is 3-3 and plated two more runs to give UK a 9-3 lead.

Offense has finally woken up. Fettes gets an RBI to give up a 10-3 lead in the top of the 7th. This is the type of game we were looking for this weekend. Didn't have to be this good, but a few more clutch hits on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday would have been very nice.

Agree, UK has shown some signs of life today. Good outings by Salow and Dwyer. UK now up 10-4 going to the 8th.

Final score Cats 12 UCSB 7, Dwyer gets the win in relief of Salow. UK goes 1-3 on their west coast trip, and returns home with a 3-3 record.

Yes, he did. In a big way with a 4/5 day. The bats came alive and the bullpen held on. We'll take a win anyway we can get it. Plus, we gave them their first loss of the season.

Very glad we preserved the 'W' today. We out hit USC on Thursday and UCSB Friday and Sunday (today). We just got to score runs

Hitting is a skill. But timely hitting is an art. Hopefully this bunch will work on it because if they don't get better at it, it'll be a long season.

I feel like we have struggled with timely hitting for a long time. Hopefully the guys can find the means to get those timely hits, but as you know, I am not overly optimistic while Henderson is around.

Not even sure timely hitting can be coached...either you have it in the clutch or ya don't...but I guess it CAN be recruited.

I think it can be coached, but probably only to a certain point. I think that a part of the success of it comes with the approach. You have to change your approach at the plate according to the situation and you have to find the right pitches to hit. In the past our guys have not been extremely patient at the plate. They like to get up there and take their hacks no matter the situation. I think changing the approach to being more patient when you need those timely hits is more successful.
