Hopefully we can keep that spread this year as they aren't a powerhouse either and see if we can get a team to increase it next year.

Seeing the # of seasons on this actually makes UNC look the best. Averaging almost 21 wins per season with UK at almost 20. Kansas and Duke is less than 19 wins per season.

Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, and Duke consistently lead NCAA Division I men's basketball in all-time winning percentage, with Kentucky often at the top, boasting over 75% wins, followed closely by the Tar Heels and Jayhawks, showing dominance across decades with numerous wins and national titles. These perennial powerhouses maintain incredibly high win percentages, averaging well over two wins for every loss in their storied histories.

Top All-Time Winning Percentages (Men's D1)
Here's a snapshot of the top teams by winning percentage (Note: Percentages fluctuate slightly with each season, but the top teams remain consistent):
  1. Kentucky Wildcats: ~76%
  2. North Carolina Tar Heels: ~73.3%
  3. Kansas Jayhawks: ~72.9%
  4. Duke Blue Devils: ~71.2%
Key Takeaways
  • Kentucky's Consistency: The Wildcats have won over three-quarters of their games in program history, holding the top spot in overall wins and often percentage.
  • Blue Bloods Dominance: The "Blue Bloods" (Kentucky, UNC, Duke, Kansas) consistently appear at the top of both all-time wins and winning percentage lists, demonstrating sustained excellence.
  • Kansas's Rise: The Jayhawks recently surpassed Kentucky in total wins, showcasing their enduring strength.
For the most current figures, you can check resources like Wikipedia's list of teams with the highest winning percentage in NCAA Division I men's college basketball, NCAA.com, and TeamRankings.com.

LOL. The Cheats should have forfeited about 300 of those wins and a couple championships for achieving them during a two-decade era when they set up an entirely fraudulent academic department to keep basketball and football players eligible without having to attend any classes. No one has come close to that level of cheating in history.

UNC-CHeats is the single most tainted, corrupt athletic department in the country. It should be a ban-able offense to say anything positive about them, but I suppose you deserve a warning.

UK has won 25 more games than UNC in seven more seasons. Taking out the 1952-53 season that Kentucky was not allowed to play a schedule this means UK started playing eight seasons before UNC did.

However UK went 25-43 in its first 8 seasons. So taking out the head start UK had, they’d have the same number of wins as UNC currently has with 43 fewer losses.

And keep in mind UNC already has played more games than UK has as it is currently.
