UK vs Xavier Wednesday @ 4:00 pm ....

Looks like they are going to try and get this one in, UK coming in at 17-7, while XU comes in at 12-10. Cats yet to name a starter for this game. Would be nice to pick up a mid-week victory before heading down to Nashville to take on Vandy !

Cats get 3 runs in the 1st inning, give up 3 runs in the top of the 2nd. They then get 3 in the bottom of the 4th, to lead 6-3 going to the top of the 5th.

After going ahead 6-3, UK gives up a run in the 5th, and 2 unearned in the 6th to tie it up at 6-6. Cats not sharp today especially mentally.

UK gets 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the 6th to lead 9-6 going to the bottom of inning number 9. Spencer Jack pitched a 1,2,3 8th inning, on in the 9th to try and close it out !

Final Kentucky 9 Xavier 6, Cats get the win to improve to 18-7 on the season, while XU falls to 12-11. Spencer Jack gets the save with 2 perfect innings of relief. Cats travel to Nashville to take on Vandy this weekend.

Clover, did you listen to the game? I missed it, but read that Cody pitched. Have you heard any reasons that he has not been pitching on Sundays? Is he kind of getting some light mid-week work to rehab an injury or what?

Yes, he actually got the win vs Xavier. He pitched against USC Saturday also, he had arm stiffness, and Henderson doesn't want to rush him back.
