Some Russians were posting on the western parts of the internet until a few weeks ago and did "man on the street" interviews from different cities. It was surprising to see the divide between younger people knowing (or at least suspecting) what is really happening and the older people thinking exactly what Russian propaganda was telling them. This is a one way to get real information to people who aren't getting it, although it is pretty rough.
that is technically a war crime. Not sure why people are happy about this and acting like its a good thing. Imagine if al-qaeda was texting widows and parents when they killed one of ours.
So if al-qaeda texted a widow of a Navy Seal on memorial day.... You gonna be all "sucks for you"?

This isn’t simply to harass: the Russians left their dead, behind, and Ukraine is offering the return of the remains.
Did Syria attack us? I don't remember that. DId Iraq attack us on 911? I thought it was 18 Saudi citizens working out of Afghanistan???? But you probably have a link to dispute my memory.

You didn’t say Iraqis. Nor Syrians. But you did say Al-Queda. And yes, Al-Queda did attack us on 9-11. And that’s why we went into Afghanistan. Because that’s where they were. And Saudi Arabia should’ve been hit with massive sanctions. Because no, they aren’t our friends. Period. And while I won’t argue Iraq (that was a pack of lies sold to Congress), it wasn’t exactly like Saddam was Mr Awesome. And as far as I’m aware, no boots were ever out on the ground in Syria.
But please by all means equate our brave men and women to invading Russians attacking a country that did nothing to them. And acting like Putin is even remotely right. The closest you will get is Iraq. And that was complicated to say the least.

The freaking media was selling a "bounty" program by Russia to kill US soldiers in Syria. You saying they were lying about Americans being there even though the intel services said the bounty program didn't happen going back to 2015 but Americans were killing Syrians who were fighting ISIS? You're probably so far behind that you didn't know we were funding ISIS in syria while we were fighting them in Iraq.
Don't worry though. All those weapons going to the 2nd most corrupt government in Europe won't end up on the blackmarket and we won't have terrorist attacks with stinger missiles and the like. We could de-escalate and let the areas that voted to leave Ukraine to leave. I assume if you think Ukraine deserves to be free of Russia then shirley Donbas deserves to be free of Ukraine? 14000 ethnic Russians have been killed in Donbas since 2014. The militia problem in Ukraine is real. Those people just want out of the corruption.
I didn't say that. Im pointing out that we do stuff in our own interest that violate sovereign countries territories and we shouldn't be bitching about someone doing the same. I don't think we should be sending anything but humanitarian aid and we shouldn't be doing anything to prolong this war because Ukraine cannot win if we do not get involved more and more. All we are doing is increasing death and destruction.
We send anti tank weapons.... Russia starts losing more tanks.... Russia starts blowing up buildings before they enter a city... That is how escalation works. Kharkiv still has electric and internet. Russia isn't just randomly blowing up stuff. They wanted the separatist areas in tact because they already had agreements with local governments. Ukraine dug in and we kept sending more and more powerful weapons so then precision goes out the window and Russia does what Russia does and just levels ****.
The problem is that propaganda has everyone thinking this is good vs evil when in fact its 2 countries that are pretty similar but one is just a little more wealthy and little bigger population and militarily.
youre 100% correct. But anything logical comes off as “pro putin” . Which is a good laugh. People are too entwined in delusions to see reality.

Here’s the thing. I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I just don’t think giving Putin what he wants is a a good idea; mainly because I don’t think he’s one to stop. I think is ultimate goal is restoration of the USSR. And I’m not one of these “Putin has always been evil”. Nah, I think something’s changed with him. Whether he’s sick or he’s just lost it. Something’s up.
Interesting comments from Robert M. Gates, Secretary of Defense under both Bush43 and Obama. Putin gets Donbass, NATO gets what's left of Ukraine, Sweden and Finland. Huge win for NATO, major f-up by Putin.
