How much did UL lose this off season in the area of recruiting with the departure of the three assistants? Will that impact 2017? 2018?

Seems at least 2 of the 3 were highly regarded recruiters (UL fans seemed to diss all as coaches upon their departure - common theme?). Is this a minor issue or does it impact?

It won't impact them at all. Their graduate assistants do all the coaching. In fact, I hear Jurich is considering replacing all of the assistant coaches with mannequins on the sideline for game days to save money.

What are you talking about louisville has the greatest GAs on earth. I once saw Nick Petrino coaching up Jerry Rice Michael Irvin and Randy Moss.

And all three at the same time, had to do a lot of traveling though. And I don't think he was even a teenager back then.

What I love about all of this is that when UL loses football players you always hear about how the backups are better then the starters anyway so there is never a drop off. Now, not only are the backups better then the starters, but their GAs are better then their actual assistants.

A few years ago Mike Hartline and Randall Cobb teamed up for two late touchdowns beating Coach Petrino's Arkansas team. I was told Coach Petrino was so infuriated losing to Kentucky, he ripped his team in a vicious tirade and literally tore up the visitors locker room.

It is time for UK to take down Coach Petrino in the most decisive and punitive manner possible. Enough is enough. Now is the time.

Until that happens, we can expect a constant onslaught of UofL fans laughing, cursing and exhibiting the most derisive behavior imaginable to taunt us.

Dude, we can win the next five in a row and that would not change the idiots that are Looserville fans. You can not take dumb out of stupid.

Are we so desperate to win one from Loserville that we take their questionable character sloppy seconds? I think this hire was a bad move and I hope it doesn't end up biting us in the butt.

I don't think Stoops would have hired Lamar if there was anything on his resume, or background that was questionable. From what I read, he seems to be an upfront person, and I'm glad to have him as a Cat Coach.

Ex-um Star Charged With Hitting Pregnant Woman In Plantation

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Lamar Thomas was free on $10,000 bail on Thursday after being arrested for beating his pregnant fiancee during a Fourth of July argument in a Plantation Acres home, police said.

Thomas, 26, a native of Gainesville and a former University
of Miami Hurricanes football star, turned himself in to Metro-Dade police on Wednesday evening and was released on bail on Thursday, said Sgt. Frank Rubino, spokesman for the Plantation Police Department.

He is charged with two counts of aggravated battery for beating Ebony Cooksey, 22, in a friend's home in the 12000 block of Southwest Second Street, Rubino said. The charges are very serious because "Ebony is pregnant," Rubino said.

This guy has been on two staffs with Bobby Petrino? Vetted by Honest Tom? Sits next to Lamar Jackson at basketball games?

You think that idiot howie had the foresight to plant this story in the Miami papers 20 years ago? I guess he was looking for a second caper to bookend his planting the Obama birth notice with. Stick your head in the sand / hold your nose about this hire - not me. Loserville hires guys like this - not us! We could have gotten a better coach without the crap that's in his background to coach our guys.

Oh yeah, you are making great points. But, you should have made them last year or the year before.
I guess if I cared who Loserville hired as their coaches, maybe I would have. Him being there further cemented their lack of morals in their win at all costs mentality. We took a different path by not even considering Honest Boob - why deviate from that now? And for a position coach? Makes no sense and just opens the door for those idiots to run their mouths.

UL lost 3 assistant coaches this year. The lead recruiters are still in place and it appears we lost no players still committed. Why do you think losing 3 assistants will have a major impact on recruiting? UK made changes with 3 positions as well and also made changes last year. Just like at UK it is possible that recruiting actually improves depending upon who they add to the staff. Assistant changes are really pretty common at most schools and you will see more assistants change at schools once signing day is complete.

Will miss Coach Buckley and Coach Brown...people on the Louisville Rivals Board knows how I felt about Lamar Thomas...no love loss since January 2014 for myself. But will wish him well still at Kentucky.

Thomas and TBuck were called two of your best recruiters by UL fans BEFORE they left. Now? Lol

Recruiting is about relationships. We lost Scott and now 2 2017 commits (we have a number) decommitted. I love how, in your typical hypocritical way, you assume some hypocrisy in others, but maybe you don't know as much as you believe. Or, you just cannot have an honest discussion. The BP Effect

didn't thomas land the qb that single handedly beat UK this year?

Thomas was the Primary for Lamar Jackson....for the 2015 Class he wasn't the Primary for any this year. The Primary Recruiter for the main guys in the 2016 class for Louisville were either LD Scott, Todd Grantham, Terrell Buckley or Garrick McGee. To go to the OP in 2016 Buckley was a force for Louisville and the one that got the big recruit Pass was Scott...Thomas was much more 2015 with Jackson and Peete.

Well that answers it. Typical PE response.

No..just answered your original question...how will it concern Louisville going forward...in this thread said Coach Buckley is going to be missed...I'm the wrong person to speak about Coach Thomas and like I said on the Louisville board 2 years ago how I felt about him.

This year it didn't hurt and going forward it appears that LD Scott who done a good job on the trail the past two years is the main guy. We will see how Coach Heyward will do as one of the new coaches and Kolby Smith will need to step up as well.

Reread my 2nd paragraph in your question about 2017, 2018 and so forth...LD Scott was the key recruiter for the 247 Composite 36th Ranked Class-(37th by Rivals) Which is why I mentioned 2016 and going forward this is what I said about 2017, 2018...and really kind of a silly question because of the moving around of College Football Assistant Coaches across the country.

This might help you:

We will see how Coach Heyward will do as one of the new coaches and Kolby Smith will need to step up as well.
