I absolutely hate Louisville but they did get snubbed. And let’s face it we as UK fans have been there before with SEC basketball that you can’t help if your conference sucks. All you can do is take care of the path in front of you so you can control your own destiny.

I think what also may have hurt them is Duke handling them pretty easily without Flagg.

Duke did beat UL head to head. But Duke didn’t really beat much of anybody UL didn’t beat except for Auburn, which was only a typical screw job at Cameron Indoor. Duke is only one game ahead of UL in their conference and they couldn’t even beat the one decent team UL beat.

To seed UL beneath Duke is reasonable. To seed UL all the way down at 8 while making Duke the second 1 seed just behind the overall number one seed Auburn is gonzo insane. They have a legitimate gripe.

Agree. Lets throw in unc.

There is no way to justify unc and duke getting in on strength of conference but sliding UL down to 8. It cannot be reconciled.

Like you said, the entire lot only had one really good win. Duke is obviously better but not 7 seeds better simply because of one player.

Imo duke should've been a 2 (probably a 3 but that was never happening) and UL a 5 or 6 and UNC not even sniffing the field.

Our fans would be up in arms if we got an 8 seed as the 13th ranked team (by the AP Poll) in the country. There would probably be a group ready to burn down the NCAA's HQ.
We probably wouldn’t be 13th ranked if we didn’t beat any top 20 team and had only 3 wins over the top 45.

Except Clemson and maybe Duke, the ACC players have the builds of HS guys compared to SEC. Lou look scrawny

I had UL modeled at 29, which would be the first 8 seed.

NET had them at 23, which would br a 6.

Kenpom also had them at 23.

So I think you can reasonably call them a low 6 to high 8 on the metrics.

If you move them up to the 6 or 7 line, who do you bump out? BYU, Mississippi, Marquette, UCLA?

Go compare those resumes and get back to me and explain why UL should be in front of them, with their 4 Q1 wins and tied for second in the weakest ACC ever.

UofL has a better resume than St Marys

That is who they should have bumped

I thought an 8 seed was a bit too low. I was thinking maybe 6 seed. But their fans should be happy it's Lexington. Will be really interested to see how much red gets in. Will their fans show up.
I wouldn’t be happy with that draw for a team from a major conference that finished with a record like that. Granted the league sucked but they did what they should have. Even eye test and national rank shows they should have been higher than an 8. It’s funny and I despise them but they got hosed.

As much as I love pointing my finger and gut laughing at them, they deserved a better seed and if not a better seed a better draw. Having to face Auburn in game two is tough. honestly though I thought they would land on the 5-6 line. but then i read they only won 3 games against the field of 68 and two of those were against Clemson.

The point of it all is the ACC was epically bad this year.

If the second best team in the conference is an 8, then yeah, Duke has no business as a 1. It just screams pure unbridled ********. Duke's best conference win is an 8 seed? And they lost to the 5 seed? Horse ****.

I would have no problem with them bumping St. Mary’s, but they both had 4 Q1 wins. St Mary’s was in front of UL in Kenpom and NET. They also won their league by 3 games over Gonzaga.

But if you want to swap them, ok. Now St. Mary’s has the beef. But we are talking about 1 seed line? And UL gets to play down the street?

This isn’t the tragedy it’s being made out to be. Poor pitiful little brother.

Most of the Bracket Matrix guys had them as a 6. I'm not arguing they should be.

They felt like they should have been even higher. So they were probably thinking like a 4 seed. So, they think they were slighted even moreso.

There’s so much more that is considered now. The AP poll has very little to do with seeding. It’s more about body of work and theirs is trash.

Well efficiency metrics like KenPom had Duke as one of the best teams of all time while Louisville wasn’t top 20.

Louisville was under seeded no doubt. But they do get Lexington which is a win for them instead of Seattle or something.

Louisville went almost 2 months without playing a team in the top 60 of the NET. That blew my mind in a major conference.

Would be kind of weird having Duke being a 2 seed but being 2.5-4.5 point favorites against all of the other 1 seeds, wouldn't it?????

Well, the commentators during the ACC title game said they believe Louisville has the best backcourt in the nation, well, they get a chance to prove it. Good luck.

I think it's hard to give Clemson a 5 seed and Louisville an 8 when Louisville beat them twice.

I think UofL should have gotten a 6 seed.
I think you are making a case against Clemson being a 5.

UL was predicted a 7 before the Duke game. Had they won, I would have made them a 6. Had they played it down to the wire, even with Brown and Flagg out, I think they keep the 7. But, collapsing in the second half sent them to an 8.

Bubba’s sidekick kept mentioning WAB (wins above bubble). UL had 2 both Clemson. There must have been a qualitative aspect because they valued Clemson’s one win over Duke more than their 2 losses to UL. The ACC was a dog crap conference. The bottom half were mid major quality. A sense of entitlement and a misplaced view of their importance surrounds 2301 S. 3rd Street.

What do you Duke fans think about UNC getting in . Surely it wasn’t because their AD was chairman of the board….right……? lol

Let’s be real Louisville did get screwed over. They should have a six seed but they got a small blessing by the game being in Lexington. If the beat Creighton than game against Auburn will be a rowdy *** atmosphere

The committee is nothing but a contradiction.
You give the Louisville the 8 seed, which is saying you think the ACC sucks. Fine. But how is UNC in than?
Auburn gets the #1 overall seed, due to their insane amount of Q1 wins, way more than Duke. Fine. But how is UNC in with 1 Q1 win?

Not to mention.....UNC got a great draw and wouldn't surprise me if they sneak into the Sweet16.
