I was going to post another article in which the unc cheat ad said, " Each case is different blah, blah, blah ". Cuse had to vacate wins because of academic ineligible players. Unc athletic/academic scandal is 100X worse so in a way it sets a precedent in what the ncaa is going to do to unc ***. Saw many shows last night where the host said if they (ncaa) did this to cuse what are they going to do to Carolina? GBB

In addition, the ncaa's new thing is to make the coach responsible for his program. Boehim was held accountable for anyone associated with his program even if he did not know what was going on. Roy is crapping in his pants hourly. John wooden and Dean Smith - wish this standard was applied to them. Neither have to answer for decades of cheating.

Bout time for the morally bankrupt cheaters to spend another couple million on another publicity firm, IMO.

Seems like their administrators can't help but sound like utter morons whenever they open their pie holes.

Some on hear think that Syracuse got "hammered".

But the truth is, they'll survive the limited scholarship reductions and have the opportunity to be in the post season in a year or two.

Sure 108 wins is a lot to overcome, but they will get those back once they sue the NCAA for "lack of procedure" when the NCAA doesn't pass on a stiffer penalty for UNC

If the NCAA doesn't come done really hard on UNC,any school that has been penalized should sue!

Here is a 94 page document of the Syracuse violations. How big will UNCs be?

Syracuse Final NCAA findings.

From the Syracuse PDF:

"The duration and nature of violations in this case required strong penalties beyond what the institution self-imposed. Improper institutional involvement and influence in a student-athlete's academic work in order to gain or maintain eligibility is a violation of NCAA rules and a violation of the most fundamental core values of the NCAA and higher education. The behavior in this case, which placed the desire to achieve success on the basketball court over academic integrity, demonstrated clearly misplaced institutional priorities. Similarly, many of the violations occurred as a result of persons of leadership engaging in or condoning conduct that was contrary to the NCAA Constitution and bylaws."

I think that pretty well describes UNC****.

Re: UNC AD: Syracuse sanctions have no impact on C's case

The response by the UNCh AD is rich, almost beyond our realm to comprehend.

How could we possibly expect less.

This arrogance knows few bounds, as the thriving culture which bred it....has never been questioned in this curious way.

When the gavel eventually comes down....and it will, friends....college basketball will change forever.

I'll leave for others, to predict the consequences...harsh or lax.

But I will guarantee the institution of UNC will forever be stained.

And I'm strangely sad to say...That's enough for me.

The NCAA has egg all over its face because two of it poster children have been proven to be far less pure than the new fallen snow. Two programs that over the years that the NCAA has put out there as an example for other schools to follow. I am referring to Penn St, and UNC.

They hammered Penn State and now have hammered Syracuse. I do not see how that they can do less than hammer UNC and retain any type of credibility. Decades of academic fraud is IMO about as serious as it gets for any institution of higher learning.

Oh UNC and their incompetent AD will take a serious hit to their Carolina Way.

Once this recruiting season gets clearer, it'll be obvious that few want to play for a program that has such a black cloud hanging over them.

Syracuse's penalties will be considered a slap on the wrist with comparison to the deniers in Chapel Hill.

Show us the transcripts for Player 1 through 12 and a pattern of deceipt will appear as clear as the blue sky.

Are all of Roy's boys in hiding now? I know Marvin Williams changed his degree to get a legit one this time.

Every time Bubba opens his mouth, it gets more arrogant and dumber. I wish a new administration would come and clean house in that cesspool at Chapel Hill.

To me, it's the AD expressing wishful thinking out loud. IMHO he hopes that the NCAA will not up the ante on NC by using Syracuse's punishment as a measuring stick when it's UNCheat's turn.

Wow, just wow. Why even issue a statement on this? He clearly did it because they didn't like the immediate reaction in the public eye with people comparing the two cases and speculating about Carolina penalties. UNC wanted to immediately try and create seperation from the Syracuse story. "Hey don't include us in this because Syracuse did this and that and we didn't."

And to issue this in the same week they canned another employee over the situation no less.

What I find comical is that for the millions UNC is spending on PR, they are getting ripped off if looking like a fool in public is what they are getting for their money.

He's absolutely right. SYRACUSE is not in danger of vacating a national tiltle and getting the death penalty.

1. UNC banners stay
2. UNC TV money stays
3. Future UNC NCAA tournament appearances intact

Of course, nothing in common with the Orangemen should this actually come to pass.
