When did they start promoting this as a real title? I has heard it was after you all came close to tying them in the early 90s. Is that true?

I'm sorry but it's the most pathetic thing I've ever seen as a sports fan. Only UNC and Kansas does this. It's intentionally deceptive and just oozes insecurity.

1) Since I graduated from UNC in 1984 I can verify it predated 1990.
2) Its UNC, Kansas, and Kentucky. Syracuse also touts several Helms titles.
3) Why TF do you care? Crawl back to whatever sub-level of insecurity you came from.

Kentucky does not claim Helms titles as national titles nor do they hang banners for them in Rupp Arena or make merchandise claiming them as titles.

How is it anyone but UNC and Kansas that are insecure regarding this issue? No one else is propping these made up things as national titles. Helms were given retroactively. It's totally bogus but you all act like they're the equivalent of NCAA titles.

Yeah, right:

Kentucky also holds several other NCAA records and various additional accomplishments:

  • Kentucky has 2 NIT Championships (1946, 1976), 7 Helms Titles (1933, 1948, 1949, 1951, 1954, 1958, 1978),

UNCheat fans have a long standing tradition of hating Duke more than they love Carolina
