You're clearly having a hard time with it, FTB.

How’s it going, mpm? Found any tv shows as good as Lost? I’ve watched all the shows that claim to be as good, but none hold up. I want to rewatch Lost but I’m afraid knowing what will happen will ruin the show.

Oh man, I've rewatched Lost at least a few times. Breaking Bad is my favorite show; Lost is a close second but it's tied with a show called The Leftovers. If you really enjoyed the themes of Lost then I highly recommend The Leftovers. It's written by the same main writer of Lost and used to come on HBO. It's only three season's, so it's very short. I will say that it's definitely not for everyone (it barely got renewed for it's third season) as it's very weird/depressing, but I absolutely loved the second and third seasons SO much.

If this is referencing what I think it is referencing, I would have liked to have read it.
I have no idea what it's referencing and thought he accidentally created a new thread, hence my first reply up above haha

I’ll check it out. I’m sure it’s on Netflix or Prime if it was on HBO. Thanks!

I think I’m going to start Lost again soon. It’s been 6 or 7 years since I watched it. I recently rewatched The Sopranos and it was even better than I remembered. Hoping the same for Lost.

Maybe on Prime? I don't think Netflix gets anything from HBO. HBO has their own streaming service.

Is this about the lamely disappeared thread about the Iowa announcer?

I can't believe how ridiculous people got about my truth-telling in that thread. It was like little kids with splinters freaking out when they see tweezers.

Any good book recommendations? This sitting on a plane for hours staring at my surface sucks.

Lost and The Sopranos are my two favorites. I also like Battlestar Galactica and I've been watching the David Tennant Dr. Who. I liked Game of Thrones and the first 3 seasons of Walking Dead, but that show has jumped the shark. I loved season one of Westworld and would highly recommend that. I haven't seen season 2. Lost was better the second time for me. It still doesn't make total sense but it made more sense.

There's a great book called Dark Matter. Can't remember the author. Last book I read and it was amazing.

Honestly I hate to read. I've probably read maybe 5 books my whole life. But I read this one and it was written by one of our posters......

For those on the HBO shows, if you haven't watched Westworld, you need to.

I've watched several shows on Netflix recently. As far as crime-based shows go Mindhunter, The Keepers and The Innocent Man were all excellent.

For other types of shows, I found Dear White People, On My Block and of course Stranger Things to all be very good.

I can’t wait for the last season of Homeland. Great show. I’m waiting for Billions to end before watching it. Gonna binge it during some future staycation.
I wish I would have done that with Billions. It's that good. Mandy Patinkin is one of my favorites. Hated that he left Criminal Minds, but am glad he chose Homeland .

The first season of Westworld was SO good which makes it all the more sad that the second season isn't nearly on the same level.

I've heard that. Season one was so epic and had so many twists and turns that it did seem like it would be hard to maintain. It's (Westworld) worth watching for the amazing cinematography alone.

1st season True Det was great! For comedy, first season of The Marvelous Mrs Masiel was great. On Prime. For off beat show, Patriot on Prime. Has John Locke from Lost. For books, just finished Born to Run. Fantastic! Way more than just a book on running. Very interesting book if you are into history and or our military is The Plot to Seize the White House.

I always go back to Fawlty Towers for a laugh. And I recently got the old Odd Couple show on DVD. I also watch Moonlighting if I want some 80's nostalgia. The first 2 seasons are classics.

I thought the end of the second season was pretty great. The rest was mostly a mess, but still good in my opinion.

Also, I find Into the Badlands on AMC to be wacky, odd, martial arts fun.

The best show I have maybe ever seen was a 3 year run of a show called American Dreams on NBC back between 2003 and 2006. Takes place in Philadelphia in the 1960's with American Bandstand set as a backdrop to the show. The show follows a family with kids in HS and college, deals with the Vietnam war, politics, etc.

True Detective season one is outstanding. Season 3 is on now.
