Very true about Williams. He has been flat out ballin. He keeps playing like that, this will be his final year of college ball.Cards would almost certainly get a one seed with wins at FSU, over VT, at Virginia, and with projected ACCT wins over Notre Dame, Virginia and Duke (in a de facto Duke home game).
We will have to be a better team than we’ve shown to this point this year to go 6-0 prior to selection Sunday. But I also like what I’ve been seeing out of Malik Williams here in these last two games. Neither of the two centers were reminding me of Gorgui Dieng this year, until Malik started playing like he did the last two games.

I actually like that. Coach can use that as motivation if he so chooses. Still, the kids see these rankings so I doubt coach has to say anything. They should feel the 'disrespect' and want to do something about it.Wow, really didn’t see that coming, stayed at 11. Those two bad losses really hurt the way the voters see us. Oh well. Gotta win tonight.
I’m hoping we’re past the “need motivation” phase for this team. They’re too old and are too battle tested.I actually like that. Coach can use that as motivation if he so chooses. Go CARDS!!!
I don't think any athlete ever gets past the 'need motivation' phase. Night in, night out, it becomes a grind doing the same thing thing over and over again. Once a young man reaches high level D1 college basketball, it's usually more than just a game. It becomes a job. Sometimes we all need motivation to do our jobs.I’m hoping we’re past the “need motivation” phase for this team. They’re too old and are too battle tested.
We have 4 seniors and 3 juniors in our rotation. 7 of our top 8 players are upperclassmen. We’ve been #1 in the country. We’ve played at MSG, Cameron, and Rupp this year. We’ve had some losses that took us back. This group has seen the program fall apart and everyone count them out already. Sutton/Fresh were looked over by power conference schools.
They should be able to get their business done without a team meetings and disrespect by the media. Motivation games can only work so many times.
It worries me that this group can lose motivation. The ACC title and tournament seeding is on the line tonight, I’m motivated just posting this now.
Beat FSU!
