UPDATED after 12-18 games


SEC is 154-20 overall, but that of course includes lots of "cupcakes". So how have we done vs the other P5 schools?

vs ACC, 30-4 (!!!!). The only ACC wins are by Duke, Clemson, SMU & Pitt. Also, EVERY (all 16) SEC school has beaten at least 1 ACC school, and every ACC school that has lost to an SEC school. SEC has no more ACC games.

vs Big East, 5-4. Wins over Creighton (2x), Providence, SH & St J; losses to UConn, Marq, Butler, Xavier. SEC has no more Big East games.

vs Big 10, 9-7. Wins over Illinois (2x), Michigan (2x), Purdue, Ohio St (2x), Rutgers (2x); losses to Illinois, Indiana, Ohio St, Oregon (2x), Purdue (2x). SEC has more games vs Big 10 (vs Illinois, Ohio St, Purdue) by Auburn, UK, Missouri.

vs Big 12, 14-2. Only Big 12 wins are by Baylor and UCF. SEC has no more Big 12 games

vs Other, 96-3. Notable "Other" wins are vs Gonzaga & Memphis; and the ONLY losses are to Memphis, Drake, & N. Florida. There are 2 remaining "notable" games (both vs Memphis).

Biggest SEC wins are vs: Duke, UNC (3x), Illinois (2x), Purdue, Michigan (2x), Arizona, Baylor, Houston (2x), Iowa St, Kansas, Creighton (2x), Gonzaga, Memphis

Looks like most of our work left is against B10. Hope we can get above .500 there.

I think what you are suggesting would be more informative, and how I think the NCAA-T selection committee should look at things (but they don't). But that is more data/time than I have available.

Not true. The SEC will give us several quality wins, it is the best league this year. Already have big wins v/s Duke and Gonzaga, and losing on the road to Clemson is not a bad loss. Clemson is legit and a Quad 1 loss. Having said that, Colgate, Louisville, Ohio State and brown, UK SHOULD win them all. Missouri beating Kansas shows the SEC is stout and any win will be a very good tournament builder. No bad losses in the SEC this year like previous ones.
the worst SEC team currently is probably SC, they are 6-3 and have beaten 2 ACC teams, though not great ones.
SEC will have 9 teams in the top 25, with projected UT #1, Auburn #2, UK #4, Bama #7/8, Florida #10.

Why is the SEC in the ACC playing so much and nobody else?
I'm assuming it's because the Big ten Network has nothing to do with ESPN.

We will finish with:
34 ACC games (but 16 were the SEC/ACC Challenge) so 18 games outside of the Challenge.
9 Big East games
19 Big Ten games
16 Big 12 games
So, about the same number of ACC as B10 and B12 games if you ignore that 2-night Challenge.
Also keep in mind the SEC is more geographically aligned with the ACC than any other P5 conference, including some annual rival games (UGA & Ga Tech, USC & Clemson, Florida & FSU). And some of those were just holiday tournaments which who you play can be somewhat random.
