US soldiers kick Islamist militant @ss on French train - save lives

I'm sure eventually the French men on the train would have handled the situation -- probably by surrendering the train and converting to Islam, but the threat would have been neutralized.
One thing those stories are missing is the part where one of the guys takes the box cutter and deeply carves "USA" into the idiots forehead.
8% of their population is Muslim, mostly isolated in slums with high unemployment. Not ideal.
When the story broke, within hours every news agency was reporting the Muslim/Marines facts....except the NYT who stayed with man/Americans label until much later.
Those guys probably saved a hundred lives.

I bet they used excessive force in subduing the victim. Will probably hear a lecture on vigilantism as well.

don't you think it would be more satisfying to beat the living **** out of one of them. ?? I mean, all indications are that the young men were motivated by the potential thrill of it, which is just beautiful.
of course. However, in the heat of the moment, the fear of a potential underwear bomb, etc might motivate me to put a bullet through this head to prevent any other surprises.
good point jam. I did read that one of the soldiers mentioned that the dude's plot was foiled for reasons that included a bad primer. Maybe the only reason he could have known this was because he picked up the AK and attempted to squeeze off a round in the terrorist's head and said, "damn." Then is was on to plan B - a good old fashioned *** beating. What do you think? For some reason I want you to feel really satisfied about how this went down. Thoughts?
Let's agree the "alleged" terrorist is not Islamic, because everyone knows Islam is a religion of peace, evidenced by our strong, positive Muslin culture here in America.
i don't know why everyone celebrates three american thugs whipping an economically disadvantaged youth of minority religious status and oppressed culture.
The newscast I saw last night made sure to tell me the guy said he was not a terrorist, but merely planned to rob the passengers. They also showed at least 8 clips on the ground for the AK and then said he "had several rounds of ammunition".
