In other words, this is a bad team all around.I've watched almost every game this season. This team is not as talented as most in the SEC, but they're definitely not playing up to their potential. It's past time to put the best nine on the field and stick with them. The coaching staff should know the best nine by now. The biggest issue tho, is pitching. If they're not walking or hitting batters, they're ALWAYS pitching from behind. Throw strikes and let the chips fall. Thursday night we lost by one run. In the third inning we gave them 4 or 5 BB or HBP, then gave up a grand slam. For the game, we walked 6, hit 2 batsmen, but only gave up 6 hits. Not a recipe for success.
Ferrari to a YUGOThat program used to be the pride of the university. Sickens me how it has been destroyed. Truly like taking a Ferrari & driving it into a dump truck.
I bet you were thinking to yourself “it can’t possibly be any worse than this… “I still have trouble believing what happened last night . . . smh![]()

"If wishes were horses..." You could posit that for literally any person alive, regardless of their coaching ability.Wonder what would be said about our baseball season if those who wanted Powell hired was having the same issues this staff is dealing with?
Tommy is definitely missed. After the way the three games unfolded this weekend, I couldn't help but wonder if even the always-positive, never-say-anything-negative-about USC-baseball Tommy Moody wouldn't have had to yell some choice words into a paper bag. It's probably best that he isn't here to see this. I remember how elated he was when they won the first CWS and how proud he was of that 3-year run. He'd have to be tormented to see the current state of things.![]()

One other thing I will add-I was just glad Tommy was able to see the baseball program win it all in his lifetime (he was there commentating too). My dad was a year ahead of Tommy at Carolina and knew and respected him. I miss the '00s when Morgan was doing play by play with Tommy doing color and Tom Price (miss him too) was doing commentary as well. Before most games were televised or on internet radio, I would spend weekends out in the yard listening to our games on my car radio. Those guys made you feel like you were at the game.Yes sir; he was a gem and nothing but class.![]()
I remember those days, what an enjoyable time. Often would have the grill going, kicked back with an adult beverage.
