USC pretty clearly the most underrated team in b1g - quite possibly the entire Country.

Slow down turbo. They’ve played Missouri St, Georgia Southern, and Purdue. I think we know about as much about USC as we do about our own PSU team, which isn’t much. USC’s season officially starts in two weeks when they travel to Illinois.

Actually, it does matter how you play. USC averaging 604 Offensive ypg and their D has looked impressive as well. So you can say it doesn't matter how they've looked, but that doesn't make it so.

USC coach is probably of the mindset that he’s fighting for his job. He‘s got the pedal to the metal. Could lead to a tired finish to the season and losses. Fast starts don’t always continue thru the season. Let’s see how they do against Illinois.

This must be an attempt at humor. USC gave up 370 yards to Purdue and committed over 100 yards in penalties. If Purdue does not turn it over three times they might have beat USC.

LMAO, USC outgained Purdue 461-357, out-rushed Purdue 179 yards to 52 yards and controlled TOP 34:07 to 25:53. They made Purdue's offense completely one-dimensional forcing them to throw the ball to try and stay in the game picking off their QB 3 times.... and you think they were outplayed and probably deserved to lose the game???

What happened to your former goofy board name RipEtoJoePatoCJF (something like that) and the even goofier one you had before that one?

Was it Bushwood?

It was Purdue. Wait until they play Illinois and Michigan. Then a better assessment of USC can be made.

I think it is odd that people have been suggesting that Notre Dame has no competitive games left on the schedule given that they play USC.

360 yards is a lot of yards to give up.

So OSU isn’t good because they didn’t have great offensive stats against Texas, but USC is great because they had good offensive stats against Purdue. Got it.

I think Oregon deserves the "most underrated" despite their rating. Their play so far reminds me of the scene in the state final game from the movie Friday Night Lights: Coach: "how is it out there?"; Player: "They're big, they're fast, their dirty"

360 yards is a lot of yards to give up.

Not really - especially when 90% of it is via the pass and USC had 3 INTs (including a Pick-6 to make the score 30-10 with only 2 minutes remaining in 3rd QTR). The game was @purdue, so USC ran the ball on all but 2 plays for the remainder of the game (USC had a 12 play 56 yard drive where they missed a FG and an 8 play 65 yard drive where they made a FG - they ate up 10 min and 20 sec of clock on their final 2 possessions). This was not a close game - you clearly didn't see it. Purdue was never in the game and USC did the right thing in running the clock at the end with an insurmountable lead on-the-road.

I never said that duhO$U isn't good - you're making that up. Never said it. I said that they're offense doesn't look all that great. I've been critical of the inconsistency of our own offense, but have said that people who evaluate teams solely on Offensive performance are not correct in applying this to a "team" evaluation (PSU's Defense and Special Teams will keep PSU in every game they play - PSU's starting Defense has only given up 3 points in 3 games).

So again, you're full of crap that I ever said that duhO$U was not a good "team" - what I said was that their offense has looked marginal... and it has as even the btn analysts acknowledged after the Ohio game this weekend on the "Final Drive" show.

Apparently reading comprehension is not one of your strong suits. I could have sworn that the poster merely pointed out that “mighty” USC gave up 370 yards to Purdue and that if Purdue didn’t have 3 turnovers it MIGHT have won the game.

Dude you are crowing about USC beating PURDUE PURDUE. Give it a rest already. While you are at it maybe you could recommend that the Trojan band learn to play more than 2 songs.

We beat cincy 81-0 in 1992 and lost the next week to Miami 17-14. It doesn’t matter what you beat the cupcakes by no matter how you try to spin it.

So the 3 teams they played can play In a championship game like Permian cause Oregon is Dallas Carter? Permian by the way won the state championship the following year. The 3 they played are like the 3 we played.

You know USC has a forum - maybe post there where someone gives sh$t about USC since as noted we don't play them tis year - maybe just maybe in the playoffs if they make it.

I’m a big usc fan. Watched the game in LA, it was fun to watch the locals cheer drink and be merry. I’m hoping the O game crowd in founding fathers will be as festivus

Have always admired your measured assessment of PSU football over the years and usernames. Curious to get your quick take - you have to be impressed with Bill O'Brien's return to the college game, no? We all admire what he meant to this program.

What's wrong about posting about a conference foe? Besides, we might need USC to knock ND out of the playoffs.

USC is currently a 1.5 point favorite AT 9th ranked Illinois on 9/27.
IMO the BiG will get 4 teams. OSU and Oregon are virtual locks. OSU because they beat Texas. Oregon because they don't play anybody but PSU.

That leaves PSU, USC, ILL, IND, NEB, and MICH fighting for the other two spots. PSU would become a virtual lock with a win over Oregon next week. ILL & IND play each other so the loser has a tough climb.
