Probably a rule like 30 minutes after lightning within some distance.
It used to be based on lightning within a certain distance and the game was delayed for 30 minuties. But we need to get this bad boy on the road.

We'd hate for someone to get injured... but a 7-hour tailgate makes it much safer.

Is there a time deadline they have to get the game started tonight by or else it gets rescheduled? Not sure when you'd reschedule it anyway.

Yes, if it's not started by 11:59 they reschedule till tomorrow morning at 12 am
Haha. Seriously if this thing got pushed back to 11 pm they wouldn't play it. They aren't playing til 2:30 am. It would be canceled-not rescheduled.

Speaking of crappy weather and Columbia - What's the worst weather game you ever experienced at WB?

I'll go with the UGA game where David Pollack had that BS TD to eek out a win.

That lightening storm was special.

East Carolina. I don't remember the year (sometime in the 90s), but their running back ran for like 300 yards on us in a 3hr downpour. I was wishing for a weather delay in that game.

I was there. '02. We stood under the bleachers for over an hour. Then to lose like that at the end with the Jenkins fumble.

When I was in school there, I lived in Woodland Hills neighborhood in the St Andrews area for a stretch.

Actually kind of a cool landscape but the houses were older.

George Rodgers lived maybe 10 houses down from where I was.

He was mostly hobbling at that point but always carried the smile. (I like Freddie's icon)

With that said, we had some "come-to-jesus" storms in the area.

At least two houses caught on fire because of lightening strikes.

I also wondered why Columbia had that dead heat in the season.

Columbians said it was because of the positioning between the mountains and the coast.

I bought that.

I remember a game in the early 70s during a UGA game it rained so hard it was like a river flowing down the blechers. My cousin was wearing a suede blazer and the water line had risen about half way up the back of his blazer. My cousin told me he would have to send it off to New York to have it cleaned properly. Again, that was in the early 70s.
