I think it was Grumpy who gave us the heads up on this a few days ago. Said his wife hated Knoxville...smart gal. Also said he could be headed to Colorado St to join former UGA QB and asst Mike Bobo's staff.

More importantly, could this positively affect UK's recruiting?

Only way I see it not is if TN poaches Ansley, Eliot, or Buh for the DC opening. Don't know how likely that is.

I think a lot of UT fans would be happy with that. I'm hearing Shoop from PSU though. Given that UT improved on defense every year under Jancek, it seems unlikely to me that Jones would fire him unless he already had a new guy lined up.

Looks like he is trying to build himself up for another job by putting all the good publicity he is getting out there and trying to make it look like Jones wrongfully got rid of him.

Why don't you enlighten the Great Unwashed with your vast knowledge?

One thing for damn sure...the reason Jones fired him will never be discovered by the TN media, they're nothing more than the lap dogs of the UT Athletic Dept. Have been for decades.

It's just a rumor and I can't say because it's personal to the Jancek (DC) family but several others heard the same thing and it was posted on VolQuest but was deleted by the mods. Also what lines up with the rumor is our mods are saying him getting fired, wasn't all about coaching.

He was fired, none of this mutual departing BS......Their Defensive Stats were pretty darn good this year......Something really odd here.....They will go after Bob Shoop at Penn State.

Shoop is a Tenn today, looks like a done deal. He is an elite DC and recruiter.

I'm speculating, but I wouldn't be surprised at some sort of marital discord - financial problems, infidelity, etc. Hate that to happen to anybody.
