Student section let him have it on the way out. Had no idea what he was being ejected for.
I was interested because I really can't recall a fan being escorted out like that from prime seats in my 15 years of going to games (I'm sure it's happened). WR security is not quick on the hook, and obviously there have been plenty of tense atmospheres at WR. Figured he had done something to upset the NU royalty in front of him, but I guess he just took it to another level.

Even with the loss, I'd say he had a worse night than most NU fans...you can see the girl he's with practically sprint away from him at the beginning of the clip.

There was a real top-of-the-line jerk Badger fan in front of us. I had to fight the urge to call him filthy, filthy, filthy names. My son talked me out of it, but he really didn't need to do so because I'm a coward.

I wonder if they will pull the season tickets from whatever big donor sold him those seats. I doubt it, but I'd approve of the move.

Good to see Wisconsin fans disown this guy on social media with calls to have U-W athletics figure out who he is and have him banned from all future Wisconsin sporting events. There is no place for this kind of garbage anywhere in society.

Sad that something necessary to protect us (masks) could serve to protect this asshat. What did he think this was, an anonymous on-line message board???

Well, they've specifically called on the school to determine who it was and ban him from all future Wisconsin events, which seems like a sensible thing to do?

Sure, I agree and everyone is saying the right things. I’m just interested in the actions.

Sensible, absolutely.

But how would you do this? Put a wanted poster at all entrances to sporting venues? Use facial recognition software? Pretty much anyone can buy tickets anonymously on the secondary market.

I was at the game last night and wasn’t sure why he got escorted out, but I was pretty certain I saw him making racial gestures to the student section on the way out- based on the info here appears my thoughts were confirmed

It’s possible that NU would have trespassed the guy to inform him he’s no longer allowed on NU property. If they did, they may have obtained his name in the process.

They may have his name which would allow say Wisconsin to revoke any type of season ticket buying, but as noted given the ease of secondary ticket sales there isn’t much of a way to keep a person out of individual games.

The sad reality is that this is America in 2022 folks. What made this guy think he could even make that kind of racist gesture is beyond me.

Well... if Wisconsin Athletics really wanted to find out who the guy is, they could do it. Buying the ticket may be anonymous but he’s been caught on video.

Now I’m not necessarily recommending this course of action… but it certainly it could be done:

Step 1: Wisconsin Athletics makes a social media post asking this individual to contact them.

Step 2: Let’s say he doesn’t come forward, well you have him on video, so they can do a follow up post encouraging other fans to identify him. Probably someone knows him and is willing to rat him out (likely he acts like an a-hole to others, as well). Or, if an offer of a $10k reward is attached, then I’m 100% sure someone rats him out!

Step 3: Now you’ve got the guy’s name and contact info, let’s call him Ken Racist. They reach out and say: “Hey there Ken, here are your options: Option A you can sign an agreement that you’ll never attend a Univ of Wisconsin sporting event again (with a liquidated damages clause if you violate it), and with that we'll consider the matter to be closed.

Or Ken, if you won’t agree to Option A, then we’re reserving the right to go to Option B, which is posters of you using your real name, at every entrance to the Kohls Center and Camp Randall. Also, we’re going to make an announcement concerning an anti-racism policy, and you’re going to be the public face of it, to encourage fans never to represent our university through racist gestures, language, or other behavior... it’s your choice, Ken.

Pretty sure that would resolve it, Ken would undoubtedly agree not to attend future events. And no Big 10 fans would have to see his racist antics again.

I saw some Twitter threads and people are posting close-up photos of the guy, so it would not be difficult to identify him. These days, someone attending a highly public event where literally every person in the crowd has a camera... if they then decide to do something incredibly stupid, they've pretty much chosen their fate.

Dang, CCJ. That is an ***-kicking, excellent post right there. Give that man a blue ribbon.

I think he’s in for a rough ride. This guy will get outed soon enough. Then he will get pilloried on social media and become some type of meme. I won’t feel bad for him.

I hope he's identified by co-workers (assuming he's employed somewhere) and gets fired. That will hurt more than being banned at sporting events.

And then he'll move up to the Wisconsin northwoods and live with all the other bleeping braindead white supremacist redneck lowlife scum.

UW-Madison just tweeted that they have banned the guy from attending any UW events and have blocked him from buying tickets through them — so presumably they have identified the guy. Good on them. And good on UW/NU’s current and future leader, Becky Blank.

"He is no longer welcome" isn't the same thing as banned from attending. The secondary market is available to him and his buffoon buddies .....
And that's probably how he got into Welsh Ryan in the first place, thanks to one of our season ticket holders looking to make a quick buck.

I’ve been wondering about this. Do StubHub and similar apps report the names of buyers to NU? Or would the apps have an agreement where they name names on demand? You have to figure the latter at minimum for public safety reasons. My assumption is the UW tweet saying “on our platform” references the reality of the secondary market … but I wonder how we identified him in the first place. Anyway, even if his name never shows up on the Internet, many Wisconsin fans will know who he is and what he did, which should be plenty of punishment.

A new, longer statement on Instagram from UW says that “the ticket-holder has been identified by the Northwestern and Wisconsin athletic departments.” It’s still a bit mysterious exactly how he was identified, but I think the lesson we can all take away is: Don’t be a racist.
