I'll be spending a week in July in Gulf Shores for vacation. Have not been since I was kid. Any recomendations on things to do, places to eat, sites to see, ect?

Vacationing in Gulf Shores

Casual (swimsuits/flops) - The Gulf or Shrimp Basket (one night, maybe Tuesday, is AYCE shrimp I think at shrimp basket)
Medium Casual (shorts/shirts) - The Oyster House
Upper Casual (nice shorts/collared shirt) - Fishers (two levels, upstairs restaurant is more formal at Fishers)
Tourist trappers (The Hangout, Tacky Jacks, LuLu's)
Redneck good time - The FloraBama for music, rednecks, chicks with tats, and beer swilling
Golf - Craft Farms or Peninsula
Things to see and do - beach is really it without an hour or so drive to Mobile or Pensacola

Yes had friends come back early due to swimming ban due to rip tide.
Went past two years after not going for 10+. Colbalt's (sp?) is an excellent restaurant.

Riptides suck, but definitely wouldn't cut a beach trip short.
