I was at that game. They added some Div 1 transfers. Tyler Nickel from Virginia Tech is a lights out shooter.

Yeah they’re normally a tough out at Memorial anyway. They might be legit legit this year.
Also add another blowout win to the total in the NCAA this year. Wild.

Vandy's rise reminds me of Florida's last year.
Florida didn't start as one of the favorites but put themselves into the discussion by crushing every opponent in the nonconference and carrying that vigor into conference play.

We have had a weird schedule, devoid of top 25 opponents, but 6 pretty good tests (current KenPom rankings) :
-At UCF (44) - VU by 12
-Neutral - VCU (41) - VU by 15
-Neutral - St. Mary’s (33) - VU by 25
-SMU (42) - VU by 19
-At Memphis (73) - VU by 7 in OT
-At Wake (61) - VU by 31
So while we haven’t beaten any great teams, we have pretty much BTA most teams we’ve played. I think we have a pretty high ceiling with this group but we need to be tested more.
Really looking forward to playing UK, Florida, Bama, UTjr, and Arky in particular. I think we will know where we stand through SEC play.
Tyler Tanner and Duke Miles as a backcourt tandem is pretty special. They compliment each other well and both get after it on defense, they’re a fun watch. Tyler Nickel is becoming a threat as well.

Just hired a new football coach, and we need to wait and see on pope instead of being band wagon fans. Some fans still haven't got on board since pope was announced last year.
They might be the best team right now but I don't think they're on the level of UT, Au, Bama, or UF of last year. Fortunately for Vandy and UK, none of those guys are near the same level as last year either.

Their best wins come from 2 teams ranked #62 and #71 in Kenpom.
False. Kentucky will be a lot better in basketball now that they're healthier, and football will be a lot better product soon under Stein.
Vanderbilt has had a great year so far, but football stands to take a big step back without Pavia.

I doubt that changes your mind as you have probably committed to your opinion, but Vandy is pretty good this year for sure.
I’m sure a lot of these same people threw shade at Florida last year before conference as well. Trust me — no one wants to see Vandy with the versatility, shooting and playmaking at every position.
Vandy has played a much tougher noncon than Florida did last year.
