Anyone else think betting on UK games is just not smart?
I mean the house always wins, and my tinfoil hat says leaning money on UK side could actually cost us a win.
I don't trust anyone these days when it comes to money, are we naive by thinking it has nothing to do with it?
Or am I just a crazy person and my hat looks stupid on me?
If it is a 10-15 point line it is probably not changing the outcome, but anything less than 5 and it should be hands off.

I mean we as UK fan do some crazy things within superstition to win games. This one could ACTUALLY change the outcome and it is not even considered? Maybe I am

It’s Vegas and lots of money. It’s happened before. Nothing shocks me when there is $ involved.

Here's how sports betting works: One guy bets on team A and another guy bets on team B. One guy wins his bet and the other pays an extra 10% to the house and that's how they make their money. They need bets to go 50% one team and 50% the other team(averaging all games); that way they always make money. That's why the house always wins. So Vegas has no interest in fixing games, not how they make their money; they are the ones who will normally smell out anybody trying to fix games. You can't just show up and bet any amount you want on a game. They'll just refuse a real big bet because it makes them have a lot more riding on one side, putting them at risk of losing.

The main threat of game rigging, imo, is from refs. They can influence games and not have to bet enough to raise alarm bells while having no expenses. With star players it just doesn't work, especially in the age of NIL, because nobody can afford to pay enough to make it worth it for a star player to throw a game. You just can't get enough bets made to make it profitable(assuming some idiot won't do for peanuts). Weak players can't throw games because they sit on the bench when not playing well. So with players gamblers might give peanuts to players not good enough to get NIL for information but that's about it.

One more thing I forgot is that casinos share information. So if one were trying to rig a game they couldn't hide what they were doing by making smaller bets at a lot of different casinos. You and the game you were betting on would be looked at very suspiciously really fast.

There's been some stories in the past about different people building better systems that Vegas but for the most part, the normal person isn't beating Vegas consistently to make money.

I hung up my voodoo chicken bones earlier in the man cave and just put on my ancient Aztec head dress.

Riggin isn’t what Vegas has an interests in that’s correct. People just don’t understand they have a set system that is hella profitable. Why would they risk that? They wouldn’t.

I personally think I’ve seen enough the last few years that solidifies in my mind there are players throwing games. Won’t get into names, but I’ve seen some players doing things that any athlete that’s every played sports knows - that ball ain’t doing that out of your hand. I’ve even had concern of a few of ours the last 2 seasons. I believe 100% Dickinson was doing it, no proof not accusing, personal belief. I think it was obvious. So players to
Me are the main threat here. Officiating yes too, but more uncommon and rogue. Vegas isn’t doing it.

The NFL has turned full entertainment and it’s categorized as entertainment to protect themselves when it becomes fact (and it will) that they are rigging their league. You’re not going to be tagged as entertainment the same as WWE for no reason.
