I had two appointments last week, one with my primary care and another with a specialist. Both offices were having problems with the appointment system. and both planned to call me with follow-up appointment dates when the system came back up. The portal shows no appointment info, so I assume it's still down- I've never had this problem before.

It’s probably the same vintage as the air traffic control system. 😞

Maybe they read your posts and decided not to treat you?

Apparently an Exec Order is allowing Drs to decide which veterans they want to treat. And the EO is encouraging med professionals to refuse to treat Vet based on assumed political ideology inconsistent with the Administrations. Or if you are unmarried.

Or so I have heard.

All I know is Optum may be the worst system I have ever encountered when it comes to having VA related appointments

Anecdotally Tgar had seen less, actually, no mail and email traffic whatsoever from the VA.

Apparently this will be the next topic Tgar takes up with our stellar Pennsylvania senators.

Tell them to do their effing jobs or get the eff out. Same with your Congress. .

$174,000 per year and you decide to take the first 5 months of the year off? B effing S.

No problems with VA appointments. In fact the VA has been very accommodating. Had two appointments, one in May and another in June with two different doctors. So no problem here.

The va should have been shutdown years ago. Makes no sense. Give the vets an insurance allowance and let them get their own care. Does not make sense for a vet to pass multiple hospitals in the way to the va

Ps. The VA hospitals I have been I were on par with byberry or Pennhurst.

We don't have to- the VA can authorize care at local hospitals.

What VA hospitals are you familiar with?

Assuming that you are also on Medicare, why don't you have better, more competent and available medical providers?

I don't understand the need to rely on the VA for medical care.

you underestimate how good some of the VA providers are. I'd take my retinal specialist over anybody else I've seen- and I've seen a few.
