Saw a note from Daniel Olinger on twitter that Vic will be playing for Utah Jazz in NBA Summer League. Good luck Vic!

Yeah but he went 1/12.
Not a great showing. Plus, he's the subject of a highlight reel circulating around of him getting stuffed at the rim on a dunk attempt against Chet Holmgren. Yikes!!

Being paired against Holmgren was unfortunate, despite Law's great defensive abilities. Holmgren's going to pose a lot of difficult matchups over his NBA career. Jazz would be a great team for Law to play on next season. Hope he sticks.

In the highlights I saw, they had Tacko Fall trying to guard Holmgren. Talk about a mismatch! I guess that's why there were so many of those instances in the highlights!!

He’s The Unicorn for a reason. Pretty amazing highlights. Two blocks on 7-foot-5 Fall. A boatload of 3s. I love love love Paolo Banchero’s game, but we might see some Darko-Bowie-Oden level regrets here. Wow.

Game two, however, exposed his flaws. He was being bullied around on the defensive end. If you can't play D in the NBA, teams will pick you apart.

Totally an okay problem to have while he goes through a pro strength program. In the modern NBA, it's much better to be able to guard the perimeter (he can) and struggle with the post-up game than the reverse. He'll be okay as an off-ball defender with help shot-blocking ability, but offense is where stars get paid and he'll thrive there.

NBA teams have an uncanny knack for pick and rolls to get to the mismatch they want. He was simply being shouldered aside on repetitive plays. I agree that he will probably get stronger, but I'm not ready to put him in the Kevin Durant category yet where his skills clearly outweigh his physical weakness.

The fact that we're even having a conversation about whether we might put him in the Kevin Durant category is a pretty good sign that it was a good pick. Most rooks can get beat up in the post and on defense. Seems like the kid is going to be okay.

Salt Lake Tribune on Vic Law:

Vic Law was named to last season’s First Team All-NBL — the Australian National Basketball League — alongside famous former Jazzman Bryce Cotton for the Perth Wildcats. He has, unfortunately, been extremely outclassed in the Utah Jazz’s Summer League so far. A 1-12 FG start against the Thunder wasn’t great on Tuesday, and then he looked out of sorts again today, enough that he saw the bench more in the second half in favor of James Palmer Jr., who just looks like a better player. I hope he keeps killing it in Australia, though — being one of the best players down under for that league’s most historically successful club in a terrific country is a great life.

Rockets vs. Orlando tonight. Can't wait to watch Paolo vs. Jabari. I've never been so excited about the NBA summer league! It'll be fun over the next few years to watch how these top three picks develop (as well as the B1G players picked at Nos. 4 and 5 behind them).

Unicorn out for the season. Like I said, Bowie-Oden…
