Sounds like he is packing his bags and leaving Iowa City. I hope the rumors are not true.
This would be as close as you can get to losing Spencer Lee his freshman year. He's a 4x AA with his eyes closed and will right in the title hunt from day one. This would be a devastating blow. Sounds like there are big problems in the wrestling room as a whole.
I love TnT. They are awesome. They are what Iowa Wrestling was (and still is) all about. It's unfortunate they are in the middle of the ring with God and they are desperate.
Losing Chittum should be an eye opener for the way the program is headed. I hope there is a plan in place to turn things around because it doesn't look like it.
I don't understand how you can let a talent like Chittum leave the program, if the rumors are true.

One of the reasons is Chittum wanted more scholarship money. I assumed he moved to Iowa to establish in state residency to lower tuition. Not sure what he was offered for scholarship money, but he asked Brands for more and Brands told him to go get NIL. Chittum wanted the more guaranteed scholarship money as opposed to NIL, but Brands didn't give him more. Again, I don't know what was offered to him in regards to scholarship money during recruiting or recently, but I do know this was a recent issue and a reason why he left.
I know there is a limit to the amount of scholarships available and we split them up, but when you have someone the quality of Chittum, I think you find a way to make it work and then you introduce him to the right NIL contacts to fill in the rest if needed..
