If he does it’s because he’s the one option that can run because nobody on the roster is going to pass them to victory
Why do we assume he’s not capable of passing the ball? What do we know about him at all? I thought I remembered people claiming he was actually more of a drop back passer when other people were assuming he was a running/option type. I could be thinking of somebody else though.

His ability to pass is very weak. But don’t take my word for it. Wait for the bowl game. I’m betting his QB role will be in a run-package only. Time will tell, but I’m sticking to my prediction.
I went and watched his HUDL videos. He has nice touch, average arm strength....the thing that will make or break him is recognizing defenses and checking down quickly.

You don't have to have a rocket arm but you do have to recognize defenses and make correct decisions very fast.

We'll see.

I don’t know what anybody else has said or whatever but I saw him play a few times in high school and Sheron too. They just aren’t guys that are likely to ever be the type of qb where you’re relying on them to make intermediate accurate throws to march you down the field and all of that. Wade is a physical guy and physical type runner with the ball. He can chuck it downfield off of play action and that type stuff but he’s not a guy that is going to pin point it to receivers and march it downfield that way. Add to that he’s never played a snap I’m going to guess his running would be the reason they would go with him in the bowl if that is true.

That sounds like Levis at PSU, so who knows..

What kind of offense does Iowa mount, they are in worse shape than us.
They are on their third string QB, and had pitiful results with their first string QB.

In short, for the season, they looked a lot like they did in the last bowl, but with less production.

The QB(s) of the future should get a good amount of snaps. Wade is just a frosh, but reports suggest he is a very hard worker. He and his brother appear to have entered UK well prepared. Kudos to their family and HS coaches/trainers. They came to compete and win.

The unknowns of this game is what will make it interesting, even if there is not a lot of scoring. I hit the O/U at U31, just to make it spicy. I think our defense will carry the day and be the reason we win.

Lol... "running back up the middle into a stacked box" almost made me nearly spit out my drink. Hope we can open some holes ...

Marrow is coaching. TEs will be gettin the love they should've gotten all season. RBs and WRs will benefit. QB and pocket will be moving to give him time. Should be fun

I'd like for us to come out throwing to our playmakers, before we even consider trying to run the ball.

Give me the hot hand QB and rotate them until one of them steps up.

Funny, i don't see Yenser name in there

https://www.on3.com/teams/kentucky-...sive-coordinator-play-caller-music-city-bowl/

Kentucky is hopeful that similar results will come at Nissan Stadium against Iowa. However, this will be a team effort from the coaching staff.

“The greatest thing about our offense is that we got Eddie Gran still who was in here so you can always go to the archives,” said Marrow.

“Verb [Andrew Verboys], Dan Hebert, Drake Jackson, of course, C.J. [Conrad]. Josh Estes-Waugh is coaching the quarterbacks and Mark Perry is coaching the running backs. The greatest thing about when you got a big organization is them guys I trust. Then Woody [Scott Woodward] is a guy with experience in the passing game. Woody is doing a really good job putting together a passing game.”

Lotsa Jutahn McClain up the middle 🤢
Afraid so! On 1st & 2nd down, leaving us in permanent 3rd & 7 or 8.

Maybe the thinking is both qbs will struggle to find a passing option on 3rd & long, but Wade will be better/faster using his feet to try and scrambling make a 1st down. Hell I don't mind if the passing playcall is drop back, check Barion, check Key, then take off running if both aren't free.

That was what we heard early on from our resident Iowa fan. My point is we are in better shape offensively than they are. I really hope we can get the win, it would help take a bit of the sting out of this season. 8 wins sounds much better than 7 wins.

This is what it should be. No complex looks. Either quick slant/out, screen, or a 2 read route tree w key down the sideline and brown running post or dig.

If it isn’t there then take off. Receivers running the DBs off is often the best perimeter blocking method for anything that isn’t a screen

He must be a hard worker. Sheron was the clear starter for the SC game but in the weeks after when they were putting out the depth chart Wade had seemingly jumped ahead or equal to Sheron. Sounds like as the season progressed, he asserted himself.
