It started shaky but really grew on me throughout the season. Ray Romano was surprisingly strong and the cameos were great, especially Elvis and Alice Cooper. My favorite storyline might be Clark, who is the real life son of D-Quaid and Meg Ryan, getting demoted to mailroom then sort of discovering disco. I hope it goes beyond 1-2 seasons without suffering the same fate as some of my other HBO faves:
Carnivale
John From Cincy
Rome
Luck
And I'll even throw in Deadwood even though it lasted 3.

Also, as hot as Olivia Wilde is, I think I prefer Juno Temple.

Like it, don't love it. Hated the murder plot. Like the music stuff a lot more. Agreed on Juno Temple- she really grew on me.

I'm no Merriam-Webster, but vinyl is a dumb word because it should be spelled vynil instead of vinyl. Or maybe vinle. Even vinal would be better IMO.

Love it. The main character is such an *******.

Romano is fantastic.

Juno and Wilde are hot.

I could've done without the whole murder storyline as well, but it did help set up some important things.

I'd buy a Nasty Bits album.

Something is about to go down with Romano and Richie after that whole ordeal. I wouldn't be surprised if Ray does eventually get killed off. Richie is very hard to like yet I pull for him. I agree Willy, the Bits are all right.

I think it is already renewed. I could be wrong though. I understand Clown. Considering you were in your 40s in the 70s, you probably find it a bit silly. I mean, you actually lived it.

I was the opposite of the OP. I loved the premiere and the first couple of episodes after, but that dumb murder plot really brought the middle and the end of the season down. Hopefully, next year will get back to the vibe they had at the beginning of the year.
